Hi Kathy, For about a year now I have been I guess you'd say, rubbing shoulders
with a very old person. And in all that time I had come to thinking how I could
die by figuring out a painless way, and then having the guts to go through it. I
was horrified and couldn't figure out why I was feeling that way as I had no
reason to get that bad off. Finally I confided in a friend. She asked if there was
anyone around me a lot that may be feeling that way. It occurred to me who it
might be. I asked my friend, ( the old woman.) She said she had no reason to live
because she was not good for anything being in her 90's. She recited almost word
for word about trying to find a painless way to go. I told her she didn't need to
be good for anything (meaning that she didn't need to be able do her own
housework, and cooking at her age. etc.) except to lean back and enjoy her life
now, and she would find a better change in her attitude. We go walking at times
and end up walking 2, 3 miles. I'm not kidding. She can walk my sox off. When I
told her what her thinking had done to my peace of mind she said she didn't
believe in telepathy. That things like that are fairy tales. I told her, "Then ask
yourself how I knew you were thinking of doing away with yourself when no one knew
but you!" She said she guessed she would have to start cleaning up her act. (A
line she got from a kid in the fam.) PS-What is SHROOM's? I read a lot. Don't
know how I missed that one. Sounds like a Jewish word. It made me think of those
little Shmoos in Lil Abner. Pepper
