Dear Karin and Sherri, et all

This narrowness and limitedness that we tend to put on
"Religion" is really the narrowness and limitedness of
thought, and it is rooted in the way the brain is
wired.

At their best, all religions, organizations and isms
are playpens or child safe houses. You will find a lot
of adults in child safe houses. You will also find a
lot of children getting into mischief. If the house
strikes the right balance, the children get to play
and explore and push the limits--and most importantly
survive childhood.

These houses are fun alive places to live. The problem
is when there are no adults in the house. Then all you
have is older children lording it over younger
children. This is the case in most organizations,
religious and secular. Modern culture is very
childish, not many adults running things.

That's why all the "laws" and very little "grace." The
environmental movement is a great example. What
started out as an insight and concern, has degenerated
into spoiled children trying to force their will on
others by what ever means. What all cults have in
common is their certainty at being "right." So they
can make everone else obey.

That certainty is never found in an adult. An adult
has let go of certainty in opening to love. Favoring
grace over law or force.

"The dao that can be known is not the eternal dao." We
must let go of the known to be known and embraced by
the dao.

We are at a place in human developemnt where our
childish antics will limit our ability to survive.
This pressure my be just the evolutionary tension for
the next quantum jump--a mutation in thought and the
structure of the mind itself.

No group or organization or path can bring this
mutation about. Only the individual. This in fact was
Jesus' approach. He spoke directly to people with love
and forgiveness. He sought to change hearts and
structures. But his followers, in spite of their
kundalini experience, pentacost, eventually fell into
the same trap. Why, because it's the way the brain is
wired.

This is why I say a mutation is needed. The brain must
rewire itself, or it will continue the same mischief.

Namaste,

jojo
