I just don't believe we are limited to these two options. I have experienced
tragedy and witnessed it as well; I see no need to pretend that it
wasn't really tragedy because all involved "chose"
the tragedy. At the same
time, tragedy does not preclude growth and learning, if we are
so fortunate as to survive. (The victim attitude ~does~ preclude growth
and learning; on this point, I suspect we are all in agreement.)
