Oh - but I can, having broken a foot (ankle broken plus two mid-foot fractures)
and I can assure it was painful. But when the pain exceeds a certain threshold,
either one faints, or suddenly, the pain is hardly felt anymore - that happened to me.
So there is a "reality beyond pleasure and pain" where both (chemical) bliss and pain
could be called illusory, in the sense that it is possible to "forget" or look "beyond".

Strictly speaking, there is no difference but it is far more difficult to
verify that. All feelings can be seen (even literally) as flows of energy
and when suddenly such a flow is blocked, it will cause extreme pain.
Knowing this won't change that one bit but can ease it somewhat, by diverting
the energy...

The classical example of illusion is interpreting the image of a rope for a snake
and when it is known there is a reality "beyond" feeling, this is not to renounce
feeling but to live more aware, loving and compassionate :)

BTW, my foot was healed in four weeks :)
