One night I went for a walk with my friends along the Vistula, the
river that runs beside Krakow. It was a very cold, icy, and beautiful
night. I stopped beside a big tree and did my prana ritual.
I had a fairly bad cold or flu or something. That night, while I
was asleep, I was aware of entities I knew to be Polish tree elves
scampering around in my body, giggling--they were totally mirthful
and very busy. I felt them in the places in my throat where glands
were swollen. They chattered in their own language.
When I woke up, my symptoms were gone.
So--I am very interested in your inquiry about tree experiences,
and had not thought until now that they might be common to the
 kundalini-awakened. >>

What a delightful little story. l started following the tree poll a
little late but have really enjoyed the stories l have read. This was a great
idea.
My own story seems quite mundane compared to
much of what l've read, but l'll share a little of it. My k process appeared
to be accelerated by having spent 5 blissful days in the zen gardens of Kyoto
in August of 1992. Only 2 weeks after returning home my k awakened: a
sensation of energy spiraling out of my brow chakra. ln the months that
followed l found that whenever l focused on a tree for even a couple seconds
or more, the energy would become much more active and my head chakras would
really buzz.
As l've also
related, my Kyoto experience combined with my k journey to lead me to create
an elaborate zen garden out of my property. l have a vital relationship with
both the trees and large rocks that has nourished my health and soul over the
past 6 years. Every tree and rock has a distinct personality and is a deeply
felt presence in my life, altho l know l'm not always conscious of it.

Just yesterday l completed work on the fourth section of my
garden. l've done a new section every two years. This will apparently be my
last, as l've run out of room! lt took me 6 months to get the new bamboo
fencing installed, finally settle on a concept that felt right, do more
ground work and then find the trees and rocks and get them installed. As
usual, l also remodeled the portion of my home that serves as a meditation
and observation place for the area.
As
always, l had to look thru thousands of trees and rocks before finding the
right ones -- ones that truly spoke to me and felt like they belonged
together. This always takes months of relentless searching. The trees l
finally found are unbelievable: a majestic old weeping hemlock that now
lurks behind a craggy standing boulder; a butterfly Japanese maple that rises
on three immaculate trunks, that commands the corner with the regal beauty of
a queen; and a sculptured scotch pine with a seductively curving trunk and
whose best years are surely ahead.
Last nite l had my first full
nite's sleep this week. l can never sleep very long that last week -- a
combination of growing excitement and uneasiness until l know everything's
going to work the way l've envisioned it, knowledge l never have until
everything is all in the ground together.

lt worked beautifully yesterday -- everything's perfect. So now l can
finally relax and begin to put it all away for the winter -- and eventually
my thoughts will turn to other things.

These tree stories have helped enrich my
perspective on the wonderful opportunity l've been given here these past 6
years. Maybe l'll yet see elves in my garden.
