Wim,
I think I'll ride your coat tails and jump back in also. I, too, have
been busy and unable to keep up with the posts. But my occupations have
been more like those of a college kid who never grew up.
I have four part time jobs. In the morning I take care of a few light
management duties in the little artist infested apartment building I
call home. Around noon I go make sandwiches at a kicked back coffee
house. In the afternoon I stack books, bag incense, feed the cats and
set up chairs for classes at the local metaphysical emporium. At night I
hop on my bicycle to put in a couple hours at a folk music club. In
between I'm working on an essay regarding spontaneous awakening.

My girlfriend works nine solid hours a day as an office administrator
for a major telecommunications company.
In her loving, glaring eyes I'm the busiest, middle aged *total bum* on
planet Earth.

Functionality? I work and yearn for it
too. Terence McKenna, that lovable humanist
etheogenist who would like to see the world have a mass awakening in a
mushroom patch, once said that life's highest goal is to reach a state
of "effortless appropriate action." Those three words can mean so many
good things in themselves, but also fit very well together.

Indeed! I've been following the discussion on Shaktipat and shared
awakening with keen interest and will have a few questions for the list
very soon.
By the way, Bob and other new folks here, I'm Paul, occasional list
poster and your typical was-minding-his-own-business,
had-a-truamatic-transformative-event,
got-zapped-on-the-head-by-lightening,
dumb struck kind of guy. I knew something spiritual had happened to me,
but I no idea that so many others share my experience until I came to
this community about seven months ago.
Like Wim, Mystress, Blyth and a few others here, I make my home by the
waters of far western edge of the English speaking world. We stand on
the eastern edge of the Ring of Fire that we share with Asia. Asia
shares land with Europe. Europe shares the Mediterranean with Africa.
Africa shares the Atlantic with the eastern Americas... and we all
breath the air and share the experience of love, laughter and dreams.

Like... whoaaa, dude. Who needs pot and lava lamps with a cat like Wim
around the pad?

Seriously, though, I see what you were saying.

Well said. For me, living in the city, this has to be a
from-the-inside/out state of being.

I agree. It's time for a second Eden... as pure and naked as the first.

Love you, too, my friend and friends.
