All these posts on working with mother nature have me remembering back
to when we bought the property that we built our home on. We looked at
alot of property's but when I saw ours, "I knew this was where we wwere
going to live". There was a grove of cedar brush, trees is you care
to call them that:) and in the middle was some of the best sacred space
I had felt. We were going to clear out the poison ivy and stuff and
make a quiet meditation spot in the middle. A couple of years later, we
started building our home. One day we came out to check on things and
to our dismay, my cedar grove was gone. According to the builders, they
had to do this to put in a septic tank and all the lateral lines and
besides nobody keeps the cedars. Everyone chops them down so the oaks
can grow better. Can you recreate something that is lost or destroyed?
I've aalways thought that sacred spots come from the ground, not
necessarily the trees, but it doesn't feel the same. It was violated
and will have a new energy at best. My creativity is an area that I
haven't put a lot of energy into, but planting flowers, shrubs and trees
and learning to take care of them has been a deep grounding and
spiritual outlet for me. I can talk to them and feel their vibration.
I get visions in my head of the finished process--a vitual garden of
eden - sticker burs and all:) I thank the elements, the spirits of the
east, north, west and south for this opportunity to cocreate with
nature--even though I might be lacking in her expertise and judgement it
is her gift to us to practice.
Love, Cheryl
