Dear List,

I've been wondering why some "teachers" rub me the wrong way. Perhaps it's
because they seem to claim to have *The* correct answers. Or perhaps my
pride prickles at the "I know better than you" quality of some of these
posts. I'm not sure. I think most of us respond better to the "sharing"
method of teaching rather than lecturing method that *tells* us how things
*should* be. But the other method teaches me also, maybe partly because it
*does* annoy.

I've also been pondering Paul's post stating that people's feelings were hurt
by the ego thread. ( Paul: "it seemed like well meaning people were getting
hurt, or at least irritated by other well meaning people")
I wonder if those who feel pain from these discussions, feel more pain for
*others* feelings, rather than for their own. I suspect (maybe I'm wrong)
that those personally involved feel very little pain themselves--and if this
is so, where does the pain come from?
