17 years ago (right after 21st b-day). Food poisoning, got progressively
worse until I was hospitalized w/ a ruptured appendix and blood poisoning.
After operation, was tipping between here and there. Was also cranked on
morphine like crazy, so it may be a fuzzy nightmare. Saying goodbye to
grandparents, saying goodbye to everyone, saying goodbye to the world/earth,
spinning like a merry-go-round. At that point I realized I was dying. Yeah,
yeah. Heading into the light. I was looking out the back window, and was
freaky-scared. At that point, I started 'running', and very heavily 'woke
up' with my nose about an inch from the ceiling. And another blammo, and I
was sitting up in bed, which I hadn't even moved in for as long as I'd been
there.
The world was very, very quiet after that. I looked around and started
seeing things - people, kleenex, hospital jello. I did not enjoy this
experience, but it gave me an incredible gift. Sort of states my attitude
toward the whole trip for the most part... hee -
