Completely lucid, I found myself in a state of cosmic velvet blackness and
experienced the most blessed peace I ever felt before or since. It convinced
me that consciousness exists independently of the body and that "heaven
realms" exist. A valuable lesson for me at the time since I had been in
utter despair and otherwise I would never have believed it was possible for
me to feel such exquisite, perfect tranquility. Like those who have had the
more commonly reported "going into the light" NDEs, I would have been content
to stay there forever and wasn't happy to be resuscitated.
