Hiya Rhonda
I had a look at Tantra a while ago, and although I'm not an expert, and
probably others know more about this than i do, i understood tantra, in its
essence, to simply be another form of yoga.
In Hinduism, there is a great deal of yoga paths to take, not simply just
Hatha Yoga, theres Raja yoga, Jani Yoga, Siddha Yoga, etc etc, all of them
pertain to variouse paths of reaching God, or attaining enlightenment. that
is the ultimate goal and purpose of pursuing yoga. As with hatha yoga, it is
now commonly used as a form of exercise, and alot of people pursue this
simply to benifit witht that, but it still is a yoga, and some still do
pursue it to attain the ultimate, samadhi. Its the same with tantra, its a
yoga to attain That. Many pursue the pleasure of the sex, while others
renounce the focus on what it actually involves and pursues what it can give
the seeker. It seems with everything in the world, it can be used in many
different ways, like food, you can eat food for pleasure, or for sustanance.
or you can eat for spiritual enlightenment!!!! ( from The Yoga of
Discipline, by Swami Chidvilasanda, there are two whole chapters on the
discipline of eating!!! it makes you really think about everyday goingons
and how we can see the devine in everything we do) Kundalini yoga is both
seperate and a part of all other yoga's, it seems, it works in its own way,
with or without using other yoga paths for her mysterious workings in the
seeker, and others are able to benifit from those paths without neccesarily
having kundalini do her stuff, so to speak.
Anyways, theres a great site on tantra i found, though its very long winded
and complecated, when i emailed the sites creater, he said that it was
intentional, to try to weed out those who were simply intrerested in
'alternative ways to get off' and thode who were sincerly trying to attain
spiritual goals, using tantra for their yoga, or path. its a very
interesting read.
i hope this has helped, with love, Blake

Hello all,

Excuse my ignorance, but I was wondering: are kundalini awakenings
and tantra sex linked? I mean once you get into the one, do you want
to do the other & connect with the Goddess within?????

So far I've read about kundalini as a separate thing, ditto for tantra,
and ditto for yoga.

I figured you wise ones out there in cyberland would know about this.

Sincerely,

Rhonda
