I've still got the flu so whatever I say here may be chalked up to feverish
delirium (especially if it offends anyone, hehe).
I somehow got put on a Walk-In mailing list years ago and have been receiving
ongoing newsletters from bj King, who is some kind of leader of the Walk-Ins,
at least by her own accounts. From what I've seen of her stuff, it's pretty
much standard New Age crystals Reiki pyramids psychic you-create-your-own
aroma-therapy channelled ascension hodgepodge. King fancies herself a great
teacher with a hot line to the top spirit rulers of the Universe who work in
cahoots with her and her cronies to raise the vibration of the planet for the
glory of all Walk-Ins... and presumably to trickle down some vague benefits
for the rest of us ordinary mortals.
There is a strong cult tone to King's writings and in the published letters
from other Walk-In leaders, most of whom seem involved in endlessly
soliciting $$ and charting occasional group Walk-In treks to exotic power
places (Maui, Egypt, Stonehinge, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza', etc.). They
spend a lot of time rhapsodizing over the effects they feel from the earth's
electromagnetic currents and discussing their alleged communications from
astral Overlords.
Not much new or really interesting that I can see in the Walk-In agenda.
They strike me as mostly alienated, gullible souls and a few "I want to be
considered superior" types. But I may be unfairly biased, since I've
recently been asked to be an honorary spokeswoman for the much lesser known
Run-Outs, and their relatives, the Crawl-Overs and the Flip-Arounds. And
they all want ME to be their leader, so there!
