Welcome back, Teegee. Your "whispers of golden light" tribute to me was
wonderfully poetic. And to all who responded so warmly to my post, I'm
touched that it meant so much to you. Anything I say to console someone who
is suffering from chronic pain and illness (K-related or otherwise) usually
makes me feel like the proverbial little bird working to wear down a mountain
by repeatedly flying over it and rubbing it with a silk scarf in it's beak.
Seems absurdly futile, but something compels me to try anyway.
At the risk of sounding like I'm giving an acceptance speech for an Academy
award, whatever wisdom and light does shine through isn't coming from me
alone. I wasn't exaggerating about how much my husband has buoyed me along
all this time. He's the light that illumines me. If it weren't for him, any
message from me would probably be more along the lines of "Help meeeee!" or
swearing and mumbling incoherently. (Don't ask him how many times I've
wanted him to just shoot me... to which he usually replies, "We don't have a
gun.")
To all of you who are going through really hard K experiences without a
partner or close friend to help you through it: if you are still managing to
walk, talk or simply survive, I salute you. And to anyone who is a friend or
partner standing by someone who is chronically ill, to me, you are true
heroes. I have wondered if my husband and my positions had been reversed,
and he was the one going through all the K weirdness and debilitation I've
experienced, if I could possibly have hung in and held up as well as he has.
I don't know if I have that kind of strength...
Actually, in lieu of what Anderson says about how brave we all were to
incarnate on earth (especially during these "interesting times" of Kali
Yuga), I bow to everyone on list. Namaste'.
