Thank you, Loulou
I just wanted to show one (of more) reasons why we cannot easily *BE*
anymore what we *KNOW* without the 'self-consciousness' split...,
I call that split sometimes 'physical / mental astigmatism'.
Maybe only ppl. who know how astigmatism affect the eyes and vision
(double vision, overlapping images that do not seem to want fuse)
can visualize what I am getting at.

>Nobody is seeking to impress anybody.
>What would be the point? Impressing someone is just ego

You are right, but it is such an ingrained habit for most of us to talk,
deliberate and discuss ABOUT knowledge, 'being interested', 'being
interesting'... instead of being IT.
"Inter-esse" in Latin means something like, "You are positioned between the
instances of being." There is a dis-jointedness in 'interesting
discussions', a not-one-ness.
"Hmm, interesting!" you tell your talk-mate ...but... are you really with
him/her?
This is just it!
We acquired that 'interesting' habit over time... It was at at one point the
thing to do, trendy! Do you remember those parties, discussion groups,
forums, etc? Trendiness turns all too often into deadly habituality. We do
not "ego"tistically want to impress anybody or be impressed by anybody, we
are sometimes 'unknowingly beguiled or confused by ego.' The trendy habit of
interested/interesting talk sneaks up on us, catching us 'unawares'. That
catching-up-on-us is what I am pointing at...
So sometimes just.... stop discussing..., stop quoting..., stop
deliberating.
Stopping the 'usuality' and 'habituality' will lead to.... eureka...
satori... aha... realization... got it!.
That is just it!
It is our usual resorting to talk, discussion and quoting that leads us away
from claiming knowledge-as-power-of-being, direct being, being direct, just
being.
Sat Chit (Existence ergo Knowledge). The separation between these two terms
prevents our bliss (Ananda) of simple being and being simple.
This is what it is!
What we have just found (!), what we have just discovered (!) can so easily
give us that eureka, the aha, the opening of the crack, epiphany...
The experience that leads the koan solver to satori happens when the
habituality of blah, blah, blah has been short-circuited.

Love, Wim
