Sing Ho! Sing Hey! For Yuletide Day, twine mistletoe and holly;
for friendship grows in winter snows, and so let's all be jolly.
Winter Solstice 99. Dec 21 11:44 pm, PST.
Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
'Tis the season to be jolly,
Don we now our gay apparel,
Toll the ancient Yuletide carol,
Fa la la la la, la la la la
You are invited to celebrate Yule!
I will be hosting a traditional pagan Yule celebration on Tuesday, Dec.21
and
I would love for you to come and join with us, and share music and love and
food and laughter, on the longest darkest night before the Millennia!
The theme of the event is "Dark to Light". Tickets will be $10. or donation
at the door, to cover the cost of the hall rental. We are also accepting food
bank donations..
The doors open at 7:pm, with a drumming circle and Wassail welcome. Wassail
is a traditional Yule welcoming beverage of hot spiced wine with juice.
Around 7:30 the ritual will begin, a traditional celebration of the rebirth
of the Sun, with some thoughts to a peaceful New Year.
At 8:30 we will have a potluck feast, sharing food together in the old ways.
There is no theme for this potluck, so bring whatever you would like to share,
and the beverage of your choice.
Pagan events are Earth friendly, so instead of disposable dishes, guests are
asked to bring a mess kit: a plate, cup, and silverware from home, to eat
dinner with.
See the blazing Yule before us,
Strike the harp and join the chorus,
Follow me in merry measure,
While I tell of Yuletide treasure,
Fa la la la la, la la la la
After the feast, coffee will be served, and if all goes as planned, there
will
be a Celtic band to play so we may dance.. if not then more drumming for
dancing feets.. feel free to bring drums or musical instruments!
The event will be held at the Polish Community Center. Please come in the
side entrance, which is 696 E.24 Ave at Fraser St., in Vancouver. Feel free to
bring Pagan-friendly guests.
Fast away the old year passes,
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses,
Sing we joyous all together,
Heedless of the wind and weather...
Fa la la la la, la la la la
