LEFT AND RIGHT PATH - SOME REFLECTIONS
The word "left-hand adepts" have had negative connotations throughout the whole history of occultism, beeing associated with Black magic. But a little analysis will show that this is not the whole truth; it's not precise.
If we compare the "left" and "right" within occultism, with our political parliaments and the US Congress, we could say that the"left-hand adepts" are the LIBERALS, and the "right-hand adepts" the CONSERVATIVES - within occultism.
Occultists are divided into two parties: The "right", the conservatives, are those who wants to keep the secret, spiritual teachings, from times immemorial, within secret societies. They want to keep the secret doctrine pure, by avoiding public disclosure. They want to preserve the ancient teachings pure, because they would not be UNDERSTOOD by a materialistic culture. "DON'T THROW PEARLS FOR SWINE".
The "left", the liberals, are those who want to reveal the esoteric to the public. They feel a MORAL duty to help mankind from beeing devastated by materialism. In short: The "right" are the esoterics, the "left" the exoterics.
Both views are wrong when carried into EXTREMES. To keep teachings secret, from the viewpoint that "We are / I am more worthy than others" is one of the spiritual sins, violating the law of EQUALITY. It's SPIRITUAL PRIDE.
The other extreme: To reveal spiritual truths at inappropriate times, is PEARLS FOR SWINE. The last attitude implies misuse of power; to force other's to accept what they do not want to accept.
Both extremes are the "black way". Those following the balance between these two: Not to reveal teachings which would be misunderstood; and never withholding information which is crucial, are the true initiates.
Unfortunately, the tantric left-hand adepts, known to the western world since the last century, was extremists among the left. They were "black" because they were extremists.
And one who critisized them most - H.P.Blavatsky, wrote a work entitled "ISIS UNVEILED" - a title implying the attitude of the left.
Another irony of a paradox was Blavatsky's generally negative attitude towards Tantra. When refering to the Book of Dzyan, The Book of Maitreya, Paramartha etc. - secret works which philologists have not yet discovered, she refered to these secret tibetan texts collectivly as "the secret Books of Kiu-Te".
In the years following her death, these books have been called a "fiction", non-existing. But what does "Kiu-Te" REALLY mean? "Kiu-Te" is not the name of a person. What Blavatsky pronounced "Kiu-Te", is written "rGyud De" in Tibetan. And rGyud De means - TANTRA !
