Even the most rudimentary look into what is involved in attemptng to
translate the texts from which the bible was derived, espeically the
ancient Hebrew, which was already a dead language at the time Jesus
lived, will quickly realize that the results of NO translation effort
can ever be considered accurate and reliable. Not only the problems of
trying to find corresponding words between the languages, but also the
lack of social/cultural/personal context in which they were written,
make any translation a tentative guess, as best.
I've recently begun to do some study toward that, and have realized
another 'difficulty', in that very often, the writer was writing in a
mystic sense, from the pov of a mystic's understandings, and those
translating, as well as then trying to make sense of it by reading what
they came up with, being totally NOT mystical, reveals that the best
anyone can ever say of any of it is, as best I can determine, this
passage seems to indicate that thing. Maybe.
