the 'left hand' is a reference to the custom throughout the East, and
elsewhere, of men strictly delegating different tasks to the differet
hands. 'right' hand for 'clean' things, like eating, greeting/touching
others, we still shake hands with the right hand, performing holy
rituals, etc, and the left hand for 'unclean' things, blowing your nose,
picking your boogers, wiping your ass, scratching your crotch, or
holding one's penis while taking a leak or masturbating.
