Those of you easily offended by discussions of
reproductive fluids and the more intimate aspects
of human physiology best delete now.
You have been warned.

Yes, the use (or saving) of male reproductive
secretions occurs in many religions / spiritual
movements.

>From a biological / medical point of view,
it is an oddity, as the energy that goes into
making new sperm cells = male sex cells
is not greater than the energy it takes to
renew the millions of cells that are lost everyday
from other places of the body, in great numbers,
including the lining of the gastorintestinal canal,
the skin, the blood and the immune system.

The process of making a new cell does not differ
greatly from cell to cell, it all requires a certain
amount of energy and building materials.
And all cells, no matter the type, are recycled after
a certain amount of time to ensure the "freshness"
of cells.

Thus, the suspicion that the "saving up on the
ojas" is more correlated to energy depletion
in the non-physical bodies than in the strictly physical,
is for my part quite great.

I'm confused by this.

"Semen" is usually defined as sperm cells plus
other secretions.
These other secretions are mostly salt water to keep
the cells alive, some sugar solution to supply
the cells with energy, a dash of hormones
( to keep them happy ? ;) )
and some unknown secretion, probably some kind of lubrication or other supply material.

However, it may not be unusual for male
K-ites to stop producing sperm cells and hence
only produce these secretions.

The epididymi are small glands in males
sitting on "top" of each
gonad and are encased in the same sheath of
fibrous matter and skin as the gonads,
together wtih the tubes going from the
gonads to the epididymi and the penis are what make up
the "testicles".

There is, as far as I'm aware of, no orifices or glands
other than the prostrate (a gland) in this area of the
body being situated close to the spinal cord.

I have never heard of any way that secretions from
the male reproductive organs can reach the cerebrospinal flud = csf.

The csf is barred from direct contact with blood and
other fluids in the body by effective cellural barriers
and ion channels, regulating the type and amount
of ion molecules that pass into or out of the csf.

The csf is made by a lining of cells surrounding the
brain and spinal cord and the csf is drained in the deep areas of the spinal cord / brain stem.

I would very much like to see some medical evidence
for this.

Deviations in the normal volume of csf creates over-
pressure of the brain and spinal cord and is
very dangerous. It is the cause of hydrocephaly in
children and death in injured adults.

Sanskrit yogic literaure may well mention something
along those lines, but the ancients did not
possess knowledge
of either the csf, the foramens, the standard
csf volume and the ion transport into and out of the
csf.
Thus, I very much doubt this the Sanskrit
commentaries can be used as a documentation for this
"process".

I have experienced the same kind of flavoring of the saliva at the back of the palate
and my interpretation of it is that this is not
a "glandular secretion" coming from the cfs
(which is impossible) or any kind of
secretion, but rather a result of changed electrical
signaling in the cells in and around the soft
palate and salivary glands.

Back to the reasons for withholding orgasms in males
and females.

Chinese Qi Gong sources (even modern ones)
advocate a withholding and "upward drawing" of the
semen and male reproductive juices.

The same is also mentioned for females
(In tantric literature too), where the female
"reproductive juices" is often mentioned as
menstruation fluids.

Now, menses fluids contain dead cells and blood,
which it is important are led out of the body
(hence the cramps and the bleeding).
It is a cleansing process in itself to ready the
uterine lining for a new round of cell release and
possible pregnancy.

Hence, it would rather be very important for females
to bleed a little and cleanse the uterus
of this waste.
In fact, is waste tissue is for some reason brought up
through the uterus and ovarial canals
(which are open to the outside)
and outside into the abdominal
cavity, the tissue may fasten in abnormal places
such as the ovaries, GI canal and lining of abd.
cavity, causing monthly cramps and bleeding in these
places each month. This is a problem for some females
today.

However, my personal experience with orgasmic
physical release is that there is a definite
release of energy not necessarily belonging to the
physical body alone (it is a long while since
orgasms were only physical) and may cause overcharge
in the lower chakras.

It may be helpful for some ppl to avoid this energy
release partly or altogether to avoid strong
kriyas or overcharge in the lower chakras / nadis.

Best regards,

Amanda.
