LOL!! Thanks, I think..:) Sorry to overwhelm you.. I was writing to
sort out my own head.

A Leader is in service to the needs of those she leads..:)

There is a tendency to follow a wise old Matriarch monkey coz she knows
where the food is.. but it is voluntary, not enforced.
I was watching a show last night about African Elephants. Normally a
herd will follow the oldest Matriarch, who would be about 70 years old, and
learn from her.. but because of poaching there are none older than 30..
Elephants are losing their culture.

Hierarchy systems seem to be connected to the need for teamwork.. many
coming together to organize themselves to create something larger than one
can build alone... bees, wolves and humans.. This is a slightly different
motive than banding together for safety in numbers like many herd
creatures, like deer do. Geese trade off, on who leads the V flight
formation because it is hard work.. the rest of them are arranged to take
advantage of the slipstream of the leader.
Humans are hierarchical, every attempt by humans to create an
egalitarian system has created another lovingly ritualized herarchy.. USSR
and USA equally. The exception to this would be the North American Native
systems that the ideas of democracy were built on. They had a lot of
specialized short-term leaders, for functional purposes, and following was
voluntary. Someone who was a great Warrior, for example, might become a War
Chief for the duration of the war, and some braves might decide to follow
them, and then cease to lead when the war is over.

>I've got more bonobos than wolf in my blood.
Most people are like that.. not strongly polarized in either direction.

> I don't want to be top dog --
>it's too damn lonely.
That's funny, a lot of people say that, but I have not found it to be
lonely. Being an Alpha wolf misfit was lonely.. having a pack to care for,
is social.

>And I don't relish having to look constantly over my

>My life is really stressed enough already.
LOL!! Well, I had not really considered that possibility.. most of
the people who come to me for leadership are doing so because they want me
and no-body else. They follow out of love and respect. If they wanted
somebody else, they would be following them. A leader is the creation of
followers.. the devotion of my beloveds is not something that I own, that
can be stolen from me. It is a gift of thier own hearts freedom.

It is good to have found you.. your true heart is of great beauty.
