Just to clear things up (because of people using nonstandard quotation
techniques), Zalas post was a reply to my post ("re: kundalini article").
It can get pretty schizophrenic if one starts to read opinions of two
seperate people thinking all of them came from one man. I understand that
for various technical reasons people like to use different email clients
but I suppose they should also provide the internet standard way of
quotation, no?

Kinda reminds of the Leary & friends' habit of spiking a punch bowl with
LSD and letting unexpecting people drink it. It might be regarded as
unethical (giving someone something they didn't ask for, messing with
their minds without notification) or ethical (forcing them to become
enlightened since they don't want to get enlightened before they actually
are). Me, I think information wants to be free and nothing should remain
secret. There will ALWAYS be k-active people anyway, since k is not
restricted to any specific "kundalini yoga". Should shaktipat-capable
people be allowed to go to a marketplace and willingly "infect" everyone
around with k? In my opinion, no. K is not for the faint of heart, and
society still needs people to keep the wheels turning (building houses,
managing businessess, teaching, and paying taxes)... the ant-hive needs
workers. Read "Brave new world"? Society needs Alphas, Betas and Gammas,
how much they ever tried to hide that fact. I'm definitely not trying to
advocate any Ubermensch-stuff here (unlike Gopi Krishna ;-), but the
spiritual people are different, and I think we should not try to
extrapolate any of our experiences to other people. Even if we see the
truth, and they don't. That's why there is religion for those who see (the
original mystical/kundalini side) and those who don't (tribal religions,
like mainstream judaism/christianity/hinduism).

Uhh... perhaps I'm associating a bit too much now. I know I tangled some
difficult issues without much thought. "Kundalini made me do it" ;-).

In comprehensive school we were taught that energy means "ability to
perform work". That's the only sensible definition of energy. If
work=alteration of nervous system, then kundalini is definitely energy. I,
OTOH, think that kundalini is a *process* in which nervous system alters
itself, so in this interpretation k is not energy. But this is a dirty
swamp of mingled physics and psychology, and nothing good is going to come
out of it, so I don't like to talk about it. But I did anyway :-).

Er... I prefer to keep things simple and think of kundalini as only a
thing inside living (DNA-driven) beings. The big thing you mention
(thinking about Shakti, I assume), I prefer not to have any name (label,
pigeonhole, one of those things that restrics) for that.

Amen to that.

Ditto. I'm usually "on the wave" all the time, and don't really pay much
attention to what other people say to me. I just can't imagine anymore how
some people actually enjoy small talk. Luckily I live in Finland, where
it's okay to just shut up and mind my own business. I think it was also
one of the buddhistic virtues also to only talk when you have something
important to say.
