Hi!
  Don't you just LOVE St. John of the Cross? Have you
ever seen the picture he made of the different stages
that the mind goes through in prayer/meditation? I
also have a wonderful article somewhere (I'll try to
find it for you) on St. Teresa's Stages of the Path.
They are, indeed, very similar to the Tibetan Buddhist's
Path.
