It is quite weird, considering that k is thought to be a transformative
process that applies a pressure on the brain/thought patterns until they
bend, assuming a state more receptive to awareness. Perhaps the profound
experiences are just erratic electric storms that occur when the k-process
accidentally touches a switch it was supposed to leave untouched? Or a
result of dramatic change in the brain activity, a chain reaction caused
by a dramatic alteration of the everyday function of some area of brain...
when some neurons finally find their way to that area. Like a dam
collapsing.

BTW, having experimented with forceful meditation technique
(focusing, the one described on my page) recently, it seems that also the
meditative experiences seem to be results of resistance from some part of
the brain. My initial experiences were stronger, nowadays I just sit there
meditating, and start developing obvious signs of meditative trance
(trembling, heat) much later on into the meditation.

Also, I have noticed that the object of meditation has potential to become
a some sort of object of reverence. In my case, since I meditated on the
flame of a candle, I noticed that when I was feeling "fragmented" I just
reminded myself of the steadily burning flame, and felt centered (and
blissfull) again. The thought of the flame seems to trigger my pleasure
centers. This seems to be a powerful thing, with potential to be
abused (cults etc.).
