Subject: [K-list] Fwd: [TrueKabbalah] meanings of dreams
From: Blackswan

On 1999/11/01 08:52, Blackswan posted thus to the K-list:

Fellow "K"ers,
I am forwarding a posting from another K-list -- a Kabalistic
list overseen by a Rabbi. While I am not a Jew, it is
interesting to get their perspective. That they even have a
distinction called "jump the path" was unexpected. What if we
can grow ALL ways, both by intensive study, lifelong inquiry,
and mystical experience such that we come to "know all over" so
to speack -- that is, we "know" with both our head and heart and
cells and spirits. That would seem to promote, growth that
equates with an imtimate appreciation of LIFE! It would seem to
allow for the flexible space that frees us for harmonious
partnership as we celebrate the process of growth not just for
its own sake but for the sake of being so alive.

I thank you for your clarification. I am familiar with such
transcendental behavior, and didn't realize that you were
speaking of this when you mentioned dreams. I don't know whether

you are correct when you say, "lots of people who practice it",
because I think that this ability is quite rare, but it exists
among powerful people within the Jewish and the Cabalistic world

as well. However, miraculous behavior is seen in the Jewish
tradition, as "an exception by which we know the rule". The word

for miracle in Hebrew [ness] is a word for flag, and it is
looked upon as a pointer which points to a valuable lesson by
which we may be aided in understanding what this life is all
about. Transcendal behavior is not a trick or a technique which
can be learned by itself, and then used to enable the student to

increase his power for his own enjoyment. It issues from a level

of awareness which is a natural result of reaching a high level
of consciousness. There are a number of examples of righteous
people who could have used a miracle and preferred not to.

There is a concept in Jewish studies called a "jump in the
path". It refers to those situations in which we are able to
experience a revelation that we are really unworthy of
experiencing in our own right. It is as if we got a "helping
hand" from heaven. It is a wonderful thing, but it only stays
wonderful if we appreciate it. It is a little like taking LSD
and having a transcendental experience. One can do it. And one
get's a taste of the spiritual awareness. But that should be a
lesson, an indication, a help. Like taking a car to reach a
mountain top. The best thing then, after learning that there is
such a thing as a mountain top, and there is an incredible high
in standing at the top of the mountain and breathing that
rarefied air, then one should return to the valley, and begin to

climb by foot. For in that way, one appreciates the true
intimate experience. The use of tricks, unfortunately, is like
showering in a raincoat, whereas the real experience is
pleasurable beyond description.
