I think k is not for everyone (2 years ago I would have said it's not for
anyone). Some people are just too ego-dependent, or mundane, or whatever
to cope with it. And when it rises, it rises anyway, however prepared or
unprepared the initiate.

I would guess the best way to "prepare" the kids would be to urge them to
study the universe (physics/chemistry) and avoid all things that seem
"religious" - ie. make them atheists, from which spirituality (at least
Buddhism) develops naturally, if it's going to happen at all. K seems to
like clean table more than a cluttered table it has to clean first. I
don't believe kids have the capabilities for "mature" spirituality
(despite the cliche that "children are pure"), so a normal upbringing
seems to be the best for all kinds of children, and the safest bet in all
cases.

BTW, my parents have pondered several times whether something had "gone
wrong" with my upbringing, with me experimenting with psychedelics and
later turning to spiritual path, thus becoming "wasted potential" (they
never used these words, though). As we can see, everything depends on the
viewpoint, and children will ignore the "parental advisory" anyway, at
some age.
