Sometimes, as you say, it is necessary to hit the low point before
turning around. Sometimes, mere anticipation of that condition is

I feel that Jesus was correct when he said that we need to remove the
log from our own eye before trying to remove the mote from another's.
"Helping" can be "interfering." As the saying goes, you cannot teach a
pig to sing: it doesn't work; it also annoys the pig.

Setting a good example seems like the best bet to me. People can inspire
themselves from your example if they're up to it.

Being changed or aware *is* doing your part, perhaps. The ripples
spread.
