After a two week grueling final struggle, my mother-in-law died this Tuesday.
She was an extremely giving and spiritually devout Christian woman who faced
a lot of adversity and illness throughout her life. While she did not
personally have awakened K, she was very supportive of me in this regard and
she loved reading of people's K experiences in the Shared Transformation
newsletters. In her honor, I'm posting a poem I wrote for her.

TO BRAVE HELEN
To brave Helen,
who welcomed life with an open mind
and a joyful spirit:
my heart is in my throat.
To brave Helen,
who survived cancer
and endured countless afflictions
yet kept going strong:
my heart is in my throat.
To brave Helen,
who nursed her dying mother to the end
when both were still so young:
my heart is in my throat.
To brave Helen,
who took everyone under her wing:
my heart is in my throat.
To brave Helen,
who brought five children into the world
and whose only daughter was ripped from life
at the slight age of 23:
my heart is in my throat.
To brave Helen,
who gave shelter to all:
my heart is in my throat.
To brave Helen,
who watched her beloved husband
draw his last breath on earth:
my heart is in my throat.
To brave Helen,
who never lost her faith:
my heart is in my throat.
To beautiful Helen,
who labored bravely to die:
It is the hardest thing we know
to tell you goodbye.
Our hearts are in our throats
for love of you, sweet Helen.
May your courage and triumphs
and indomitable spirit live on
through us,
who carry forever your memory.
