Hi All.

As promised.....the reason and the thoughts and results from the poll of
Games.

This will be a message that will be shared with many lists. As many lists
were involved in this research. I learnt many new things and got many
unexpected responses and reactions.

The reaction to me that was the most confusing was the one's where people
showed to me a fear of games....a fear that somehow in playing a game they
would take away from their time in learning valueable things. They felt
that games was a waste of time and some went as far as making comments to
the affect of games being a form of brain washing. IMHO I feel that if we
look hard enough at any one subject or event we can find negetive aspects
to it but what we need to do is to look at any subject or event and look
for the postive. For everything that is negetive a postive can be found.

I also recieved the straight forward answers of people not being interested
in games. That simple and so it should be. Games is like everything
else. It is a tool. We can choose to use it or not.

Now why did I do this? I was speaking with a friend of mine on ICQ and we
were kidding around with each other about addictions to games but then our
conversation got a bit more serious and I realized suddenly that there
might be a little bit more to games then I have thought and yet this has
not come as a surprise to me. Many people while playing these games find
that they can leave themselves while in the action of the game. Could this
be a lesson that we are being taught through the games? The purpose
behind any of us ever being given the ability and the intellignece to come
up with such games for others to play and enjoy? For those that have not
played games perhaps you can identify with this if you have left yourself
while reading a good book.

Many of us that have played these games for one reason or another have
advanced to different kinds of games but many are not aware of it. What I
found really interesting is that one game seems to become the game of many
when leaving the adventure games behind and that is the game of Solitare.
Could this be the next level of our understanding of something which is
rarely conscious?

I also discovered that many people that are K active are at peace with
their need to play games and view them with postive outlooks. Each one of
these people I have come to know one way or another and each one of them
are what I would term "Lovers of Life"

Anyone that has played the adventure games would have to admit that there
is always a story involved with it. A story of how one person has many
lessons to go through as he or she goes about saving the world. Many of
these lessons are lesson's on how to deal with other people or obstacles
that are in their way. How to collect things that are in difficult places
and how to overcome the challenges of getting to these items. In the end
of all games the good wins over and many times the bad is then filled with
light and regrets all past actions. or just plain completely destoryed as
the light fills the darkness. Where is the harm in such thoughts? I am
aware of the games that are violent...they are another story one I can not
comment on as I will not go near those games.

How many of us I wonder started with such a game and then enter the real
game of life and began their footsteps on the path that they are on now?
Maybe the addiction we are feeling when we play these games is in truth a
love of light? Would like to hear other peoples thoughts at this time and
then I am sure I will have more to add. :-)

Thank you to all that made this poll a success. Even the no's told me a
story :-)

With Unconditional Love, Light, and Acceptance,

Katharine
