Dear Maureen,

I have never managed to keep the names of the two
channels apart, always confuse them, so I don't
know exactly what channel you mean is the ida or the
pingala. I'll refer one channel as warm = activating
and the other as cold = calming.

In my view, the force should go up the central
channel and perhaps a little up in both. It is all
a question of balance. I have a gentle K (yayyy ;) )
and I feel that it is gentle because I am in balance,
thus, I feel it is appropriate for me to reply to this
post.

I can feel that when the
rise is imbalanced and I get cold during
K trance, K will facilitate spontanous pranayama
until some heat is generated, probably more K going
through the warm channel.
In K trance,
I usually get a lot of funny things happening to the
left hand, but most often, the right hand will
start to cramp up too, after the left "goes".
I've had left leg pains, but there has been right leg
pains as well, and sometimes pain in both legs.
(Yayyy ?) Same with the wrists. This is usually
remedied by shooting the K up the spine a few times.

But I have definitely felt too much being dispersed
into one channel only and that has always brought on
long lasting pain, and on one side. This is my main reason for advocating balance.

Many scriptures guess that ppl are either mainly
ida dominant or pingala dominant and this may be true.

Then there is the question of the chakra K
becomes overt in too. Some scriptures say that
opening in the lower chakras is the most
dangerous and that the safest opening is the heart
chakra. No one really states any reason for this,
so I don't relly know. I was opened in the heart
(I think).

Aaanyway, another incoherent post from me. Can't
think straight today. :) If something's unclear,
just tell me and I'll try and explain better.

:) Love ya !

Best regards,

Amanda.
