Dear Azure-i: Thank you for your delightful post. I really appreciate your
giving me the info on your friends and I intend to contact them. It's
funny-we've been talking about dreams-and last night (Friday) I had one. Now,
this was after I'd read your post about sending me Muktananda's socks. Before
going to bed, in addition to my usual prayers, I prayed a little to Baba,
saying that if you sent his socks I wanted to make sure it was the right
thing for you to do-that I'd rather not receive them than to have you regret
it later. So I had a dream, although not one about the socks. I found myself
in the company of a powerful swami (not one I recognized). I was weeping and
he seemed to know that it was about my feelings of hopelessness about my k
process (as I'd in fact stated to you in my post yesterday). Suddenly he held
his hand up to the sky, and a streak of lightning (and thunder) flashed
across the sky. Then he pawed at the air with his hand and whitish crystals
fell to the ground which I scooped up and ate, and they were sweet like
sugar. He also handed me something which I ate which tasted sweet. And
without speaking (as I recall) he seemed to be gently scolding, saying "Now
do you understand? Do you see now?" I thought he said something else, but I
can't recall what, and it abruptly ended- except that there was then a brief
scene in which I was back in India next to a river (I don't know which one)
and I was explaining to some guy how to get to the river.
Then I abruptly awoke, and I felt like I'd had mild
shaktipat: my head was buzzing with energy, my ears were ringing and my
stomach felt semi-nauseous. For years k has been blocked at ajna and hasn't
moved- this was more movement than I'd felt for a long time. I've felt tired
and slightly hung over today, and I'll just wait and see how it goes from
here. After over 6 yrs of pain and frustration I'm inclined to be cautious
because I've been disappointed so many times, but even I feel encouraged and
more hopeful. One reason I'm impressed is because my dreams don't usually
seem significant to me and I'm not good at remembering them. There was an
exception just 2 weeks ago. I had a scary nightmare about being caught in a
tornado-woke up, turned on the tv and learned a killer tornado had hit
overnight 10 miles away.
Anyway, I naturally
wondered if Baba was responsible for the dream, although I didn't recognize
the swami as him (it's strange but I have no recall of the swami's face).I'll
be interested in any opinions about this.
  Your
idea of sending me the other pair of socks sounds really good to me, that is
if you think it's a good idea. Just make sure those babies get plenty of
Baba's shakti before you send them! I thought this post was appropriate for
the list-- seems it's best just to use our discretion as it comes. I'll send
you my address soon if it's ok. Thank you for being such a good friend.
love Jerry
