I was ONE of those two silly ducklings... Freda was one, I was the other.
You might not have picked that up from the first post under that subject
title (Jan 12).

If we would read less from in between the lines, we may see some humour in
unexpected places, like.... in the words themselves.
A simple misinterpretation can easily take on momentum and before one knows
one writes a reply such as yours. :-) and.... one sends it to boot.
Which reply, by the way, I read with increasing interest, surprise and mirth.
Which reply, by the way, I may also very easily have misunderstood.

Sure, I write strongly and directly, some list members told me.
Dutch trait, me blockhead me.
Others told me that I write com-passionately.
Not a Dutch trait that.
Others wrote me to stop writing. Circuitousness makes them dizzy.
So much for a Dutch treat then.

Am I offended? Of course not. Do I learn....yes a lot. Does that show? I
cannot know that. Nor can I worry about that because what is seen depends
so much on the viewer.

I have myself to go by, and I have learned not to feel inadequate about
myself. My life will fall in place in due time.
It is very easy to interpret this sentence the wrong way, so try this: What
if you would have written it? It does make sense then, does it not ?

Reading with empathy turns into understanding.
Understanding with sympathy becomes recognition.
If the beginnings of recognition are not present, then reading will only
turn into "interpretation" which, by definition, is subjective. What is
"understood" by the reader may very well mean the opposite of what was
"meant" by the writer.

:-) Does your "Yes" above answer the "raving" or the "making sense" part of
that sentence. Ah English... :-) The ambiguities of language, any
language!!!
Try my native language, it is not for nothing called double Dutch.

>You are not annoying enough to provoke my anger.. almost nothing is.. but
>the lull in list traffic might have something to do with folks not wanting
>to be non-consensually mocked for their issues by Wim the Wanna-be...
>Course, it could also be the normal after-solstice downtime. More likely,
>but what the heck.. I'll blame it all on you, I'm sure you can "handle"
it......

And I can, because that very thing "blame" is illusion. It carries very
little weight, if any weight at all.

>Silly me.. talk is cheap, I look at what people do, to find the truth in
them.

Problem with e-mail is, it is all words, no body language, except for some
smileys and ROTFL's. Not much more to look at but letters and white space
in between.
Anything else that the reader picks up is the result of
well-or-ill-meant-attempts at an interpretation of attempts at
well-or-ill-meant-expressions.
The written word doesn't tell you much about what a person IS or is DOING
other then that it proves the existence of a keyboard and the assumption of
a cold or warm body somewhere behind it,... whatever the spur of the moment
happens to fancy.
Point is: how does one know what or who the other person is? How can we
really evaluate truth if we don't first assume it to be there. And truth is
like being pregnant, one cannot be a little truthful.
When others question my truthfulness (which is really not my problem) I
have learned to give myself more than just the benefit of the doubt. Truth
is what I write from. However that statement may be interpreted...

Anyway, I am here, whether you... or I...like it or not. I claim a place in
our world just as you do.
IT IS (!) our world, with its hugs and kisses and attempts to be helpful.
Let's not blame each other for trying to be helpful, whatever form it may
take, however tenuous or shaky it may appear.
This gentle hand may feel painful to one but is taken with both hands by
another.
I know that these hands mean well and are learning, just as I know that
yours are doing the same.

IS IT (?) our world, where fright and fear, pain and anger, threats of
negativity take on the *appearance* of reality, more convincing than love
and understanding?
It would be a sorry world if we were to treat nagativity (sic) as reality;
truthful attempts, even if somewhat shaky, as circumspect and dubious.
The illusive abusers of power and false promises are the Wanna-bes. By
giving in to them they are gonnabe holding on to you. The Gonna-bes got to go.
Not us... Beings.
The interpretations you made about me and what I write were quite
unfortunate, but your writing is very much appreciated.

Negatives are illusive, they also appear where they are not, do not treat
them as real (I don't), that would be suffering. Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara
says so. grin :-)
Everything that is here now is truth.
" Be Here Now." as you wrote.

Love,
WM
You may want to know me better, but I don't spank well.
(-: ambiguity again? :-)
