Another marvelous prayer/mantra whose recitation will help those suffering is
the Gayatri mantra:

OM BHUR BHUVAH SVAH
TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM
BHARGO DEVASYA DIMAHI
DHIYO YO NAH PRACHODAYAT

The power of this mantra is incredible. Below is an "interpretation" of this
mantra, but in reality, one does not need to know the meaning. The Sanskrit
language is a holy one whose sounds alone, together with their syllabic
sequence, brings about balancing and evolutionary changes in the spriritual
structure of those who recite it.

----------
The following has been copied from http://www.ironlight.net/gayatri//4.htm

Gayatri is a Mantra(vedic hymn) which inspires righteous wisdom its
meaning is that the Almighty God may illuminate our intellect which
may lead us to righteous path. This is most important teaching. All
the problems of a person are solved if he is endowed with the gift
of righteous wisdom. Having endowed with far sighted wisdom, a
man is neither entangled in calamity nor does he tread wrong path.
Righteous wisdom stars emerging as soon as a methodical recitation
of this Mantra is performed.

OM Almighty God
BHOOR Embodiment of vital or spiritual energy
BHUVAHA Destroyer of suffering
SWAHA Embodiment of happiness
TAT That (indicating God)
SAVITUR Bright, luminous, like and sun
VARENIYAM Supreme, best
HARGO Destroyer of sins
DEVASYA Divine
DHEEMAHI May receive
DHIYO Intellect
YO Who
NAHA Our
PRACHODAYAT May inspire

Translated it means: "O God, Thou art the giver of life, the remover of
pain and sorrow, the bestower of happiness; O Creator of the Universe,
may we receive thy supreme, sin-destroying light; may Thou guide our intellect
in the right direction."

1. Om stands for "The Almighty God". He pervades in all the worlds viz.
Bhulo-lok, bhuvah-lok and swah-lok. He is omnipresent. All this Creation.
World, universe or cosmos is physical manifestation of God who pervades
in each and every particle. That I am seeing Him every where. I should
always remain aloof from evil thoughts and evil deeds and perform true worship
of God by extending cooperation in promoting happiness, peace and beauty
this universe which is his creation.

2. This(tat) i.e.: God is extremely bright(savitur) choicest (vareniyam)
devoid of
sin (bhargo) and divine(devasya). I am assimilating such God within me, in my
conscience,. By such assimilation, I am also becoming bright, virtuous, sinless
and
divine. Every moment this virtues are developing in all the pores and particles
of my
mind, brain and body. I am becoming one with these virtues, these
characteristics
of God.

3. That God may inspire (prachodayat) our(nah) intellect (dhiyo) and lead us on

the righteous path. May our intellect become pious. May He lead us righteous
path.
On getting the righteous wisdom we may be able to enjoy celestial bliss in this
life and
make our life successful.

We should contemplate and meditate on these three determinations slowly and
gradually
pausing for a moment on each word and an imaginary picture of that word should
be
drawn in the mind. The man gets enriched in divine elements by contemplating and

meditating on this meaning of Gayatr. These sentiments are extremely powerful,
encouraging, righteous and elevating.

One should contemplate these feelings daily for some time. By such
contemplation, the
meaning of Gayatri Mantra is fully assimilated in the heart of the person. The
result is that
in a few date his mind gets diverted from evil deeds and he starts taking
enthusiastic joy
in righteous thinking and good actions. How so ever little this tendency may be
in the
beginning, it is almost certain that if it persists, the innerself of sadhak
becomes spiritually
advanced day by day and ultimate aim of life appears to have come closer and
closer.

"The Gayatri Mantra does not belong to any particular sect of worship or it is
not
restricted to any certain community. It is universal, for the whole world. It
contains in it the culture not of any particular society, but the culture of
humanity. The Gayatri Mantra is a
treasure and heritage that belongs to the whole of humanity without exclusion."

Dear Kat,

May I ask how old you are?
These are typical symptoms of hormonal imbalance.
>From "Hormonal Health" by Dr. Michael Colgan which I strongly recommend
for anyone and everyone(Apple Publishing, 1996)

"Perimenopause begins between ages of 40-45. Estrogen, progesterone, and
testosterone levels lose their rhythmic cycles and begin to decline.
Energy drops, and sexuality wanes. For many women libido disappears
entirely. Headaches begin. Periods become irregular. Minds become foggy,
confused, forgetful. Skin and mucous membranes start to dry, thin, and
wrinkle.
Hair starts to turn grey, sparse, and brittle. Eyes fade. Emotions swing
towards
anxiety and irritability. Incidence of clinical depression rises
astronomically."

It's suggested to read Dr. Lila Nachtigall's excellent book,
"Estrogen:The
Facts That Can Change Your Life." Take it to your physician.

"For women not butchered by surgery, it's vital to begin replacement
therapy
as soon as estrogen begins to decline. (at perimenopause)"

"So far medicine has done little to tackle this catastrophe, beyond
minimal palliative treatment of menopausal symptoms, and crude hormone
replacement
for a minority of women."

Ignorance of this issue has lead to a plethora of disease, (from heart
disease,
to cancer to Alzheimer's)

Truth is, most physicians don't know how to do it right!
I'll say that again.
Truth is, most physicians don't know how to do it right!

The Colgan Institute keeps a list of better informed physicians in
America.

Best to All,

Dear Kat,

I don't have your chart, but maybe I can offer to you, and others, some
astrological insights from a Vedic astrologer's point of view.

Currently, many people are having excessive troubles due to the transits:

1) Saturn is debilitated and under affliction by the N. node of the Moon. Saturn,
when afflicted, causes flare ups of mental disturbances and depression. The
effects of this transit configuration will vary depending upon what Saturn
specifically means in your natal chart. But, this N. node against Saturn problem
began within the past couple of weeks and will unfortunately last till late '98.
So, everyone will have to just hang in there. Most people who are sensitive to
subtle energies will unfortunately feel a constant anxiety hanging out there - as
if something is about to happen. You won't be sure what it is, but it is a feeling
that many people are having right now.

2) Jupiter is in transit weakness as it has now gone retrograde within the
emotionally volatile sign of Pisces. Using the sidereal zodiac, if you have Aries,
Leo, or Libra rising, the effects will be felt harder as it relates to Jupiter
significations. Jupiter rules the liver and consequently anger; therefore, the
transit weakness of Jupiter causes a lack of control in this area. It is also
causing increased marital problems, digestive disorders, hearing disturbances, and
moral/ethical struggles.

3) The transit nodes have gone stationary until mid-September. Depending on your
chart, if the nodes happened to stop on a weak position in your chart, the
corresponding significations will suffer.

So, I have had the unfortunate task of telling most people in crisis that the
transits will improve somewhat by mid-September, and again much more by late
November. Anyway, I find it helpful in dealing with hard times to know that "this
too shall pass" and when.

By the way, Kat, some of your experiences indicate to me that the N. node is
triggering these things at this time. The N. node, at certain times, brings us
closer to the astral plane, so you could have some beings from the other side
playing games with you. Nothing to be frightened or concerned about.

If it would be helpful, I would be glad to look at your chart and e-mail you more
specifics.

Best Wishes,

Ron Grimes

Ah, Revelations. What a treat. In the Jehovahs' circles it's the symbol
forSatan. Those with seal of God are saved. (144,000). (Well, of course,
God must be worth
more than Satan.)
The Jehovahs take this to mean 144,000 folk are saved and the rest cast
into Hell
for all Eternity by God. (nice guy)

Anyone ever do the math?

That is, 144,000 divided by how many humans have ever lived (past,
present, future).
I don't know the figure up to this point 'cause I'm not sure how many
humans have
come and gone.(or will be) But using a figure of say 10 billion people,
your chances of eternal damnation, (according to the Jehovahs) is
something like 99.99999%

Now I'm not really sure how many Jehovahs there are, (have been, and will
be) but I think
there's probably already been *more* than 144,000.

So the next time a Jehovah comes a knockin' at yer door trying to save
your
ass, (so he can save his) just show 'em the math and tell 'em,

"Quit wasting your time. The flight is booked! Go out and have some FUN!"

Party on,
David

Dear Kat,

Saw a couple of other things that are obvious. First, you mention that walks in
nature help calm you. This is indicative to me that you are suffering from a Venus
weakness right now, and the proximity to nature strengthens the Venus' vibration
for you. This may not make sense, but you can strengthen the Venus' vibration
within your home through:

1) buring jasmine incense (get a good quality one)
2) carry a bottle of jasmine oil or perfume to smell when your feeling anxious
3) eating lima beans (I know, Not my favorite food either).
4) wearing of pastel colors
5) keeping fresh flowers around you - definitely not dried or artificial (quite
counterproductive)

Again, this may not make sense, but people have told me that my astral
recommendations have been what got them through very mentally and emotionally
distressing times.

Namaste,

Ron Grimes

Every exoteric religion have corrupted the original esoteric teaching to
terrible dogmas. Christianity was corrupted in it's infancy, when people
searching power and misuse of power in the Society, interpreted everything
according to their own game of power. It's a doctrine forgotten, due to
it's mixing by a SOAP OPERA (and that started even 400-500 AD), used as a
tool for power and oppression in the Roman Empire and later. I would not
recommend The Jehovas as guides. Every sect within Christianity has
outlined only the passages which FITS according to their own dogmas. There
should be a demand from the people, so to say, that all hidden manuscripts,
removed from the public by Origenes and Klemens from Alexandria, should be
a part of the whole picture. Some christians even deny reincarnation,
although it was accepted in its infancy (i.e. "The Second Book of Acts", a
tale about the different incarnations of their redeemer which Origines
removed from the peoples eyes).

The number 144 000 has fascinated me, because I discover it again and
again. I think the number has many meanings. One of it's meanings,
according to my calculations, is the 72 000 nadis in the subtle bodies with
two poles (inhale, exhale, male, female, Yin / Yang). In other words, it's
interesting from a numerological view.

> The Jehovahs take this to mean 144,000 folk are saved and the rest cast

This is a doctrine of bullshit. I don't think they have understood their
own texts. They can't. While denying new age, occultism, shamanism, yoga,
tantra, paganism - you name it - as the *work of the devil*, they are a
contradiction in terms. First of all because EVERY religion, christianity
included, derived from an esoteric source. Second, by denying every other
belief system than their own, they commit the sin of Spiritual Pride.

You like to play with numbers?Ok, this is kinda interesting. Don't know what it
means (if anything).
In describing Jerusalem, the Holy City, which comes down from heaven:
Revelation 21 line 16

"The city was perfectly square, as wide as it was long. The angel measured the
city with his
measuring stick; it was 1500 miles long and was as wide and as high as it was
long. The angel
also measured the wall, and it was 216 ft. high, according to the standard unit
of measure
which he was using."

Divide 144,000 by 666 = 216.216 (repeating)

Dear Aimee,

'Shitty bullshit' occurs everyday.
Perhaps you are just more sensitive to it.

Jan: God cannot be associated with anything and yet God is anything but
nothing. For the little self this creates the strongest fear possible: fear
of death. The little self can only survive when associating, comparing,
identifying with something (even if this something is nothing). There are
two types of fear of death: the one claimed by the little self when taking
some risk or being opposed to danger and the one when the little self
+knows+ it is dying with body and mind in good condition.

Hi Dhyani "Debbie" I would be very interested to read Steiner's notes on
Kundalini physiology. Would you be able to email them to
brushATnospamjeack.com.au
thanks heaps.
I am new to the net and to this mailing list please forgive me for any
ignorant indiscretions. I would like to say hello to everyone and hope to
learn ,and share what I have learnt through my own experiences of
Kundalini. Love Brush

For aura photos, you might also check at the local health food store or
new age bookstore. In my area, a traveling aura photographer visits the
new age bookstore about once every 3 months. About $50, I think.

Besides the novelty aspect, however, don't know what it could teach me
that intuition wouldn't already know.

A few years ago, an aura-photographer visited the island where I am
living. <snip> The search-engines (Yahoo etc.) will give info on where
to
have the photo made.

Yes, all of those things are 4th house matters; consequently, your 4th
house and/or 4th house lord is undoubtedly being stressed right now by a
malefic planet.

My 10-year-old daughter is visiting her dad this summer and spent a week
at a church camp. Though she enjoyed the camp, she was troubled by the
prayer sessions. "We had to pray 4 times a day," she told me. "You'd
think God would hear it the first time!" Go figure!
