1. DEEP SPACE On December 14, 1997, an explosion was received on earth from

First thought: Why do you care?
Second thought: In the spirit of cooperation I'll answer anyway.
I can touch my toes with the heels of my hands. It now takes a second to
focus and relax in order to do that. (OK it takes a few minutes.) Back
when I did at least 30 minutes of hatha a day and was thinner (from
running and more exercise) I could sit on the floor, extend my legs,
bend forward, and rest my cheeks on my knees (no, my nose was not long
enough to hit the floor). That went long before being able to instantly
touch the heels of my palms to the floor. It only takes a few extra
pounds of belly to stop the forward bend asana from being complete no
matter how flexible one is otherwise.

Harsha: Very good. Very good. Thanks for sharing Joe. The belly issue is a
prominent one for many yogis. This discussion of flexibility reminds me of a
time a couple of decades ago when Mary Tyler Moore used to come to my Yoga
classes. I will save it for another day (to save the band width and all).

Hello fellow list mates,
My name is Kim and I'm very new to the list and do not understand much
about Kundalini and would appreciate very much some discussion on this
subject. I am eager to learn many things in life. Life is amazing at
times, and also unbelievable when tragic things happen.
I recently crashed my beautiful car into a telephone pole, left the
scene as I managed to steer the car home. The body shop the car was
towed to said it was totaled according to the appraiser. I've been on
pins and needles going mindless waiting for the overpayment on the pay
off of my car so I can shop for a more affordable car since insurance
will sky rocket. Please keep me in your thoughts or prayers. I also am
going to have my boyfriend move in with me but he needs his committments
down in FL fulfilled before he can come so I hope it's soon.
Nice to meet you all and look forward to hearing from some of you.

Think of all these newbies in need of guidance. Start the ball rolling again...
I spent some time in Peru, I went especially for the winter solstice in Machu Picchu... what a beautiful sight to see the sun rise over the mountain - bright as a diamond. The only day it wasn't shrouded in clouds. We had just finished a Native American Peace Pipe ceremony welcoming in the new. It was awesome. A N.A. Medicine man from Montana was doing the ceremony in which I participated by taking the pipe to all of the people in the circle allowing them to put their energies into the pipe so that Heyoka (the medicine man) could light the pipe and release all those energies to the Apus (Spirits)of the mountains.
Also went to Lake Titicaca and had a brush with an UFO, that's another story. It tried to make contact with four of us. The worse part of the sojourn was trying to breathe that thin air... I thought I would just about croak a few times. The k energies were everywhere, healers, seers, channelers, and seekers... I wish that you all could have been there.
What an experience, but I also brought home a bit of a bug and now I am in bed trying to get rid of it -

How shall I begin? A bit of background perhaps. I am a student at HSU, and am in the long tedious studies of physics major/ applied mathematics. Although I am of scientic mind, I am also an artist. Unlike many of my fellow classmates, and there are very few-physics isn't for everyone, I see the universe as being physical as well as metaphysical. That is to say I am open minded to other phenomenon which scietists haven't as yet been able to measure in the laboratory. I am not weighted down by any organized religion, but was raised in a strict christian setting-this has proven to make rather biased to this religous sect. I am now interested in Hinduism, Wicca and Native American religions. Basically I am a truth seeker and besides doing much studying into physics, I spend much time researching what has been dubbed the paranormal, and esoteric science. Having said as much, I may now move safely into the subject of Kundalini.
It all begin, and has been going strong for about three years, with some of my research into psychic phenomenon. I had read a little bit about this PK psychic in Russia, in Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain, and found the descriptions of her abilities rather interesting. One of the abilities which has been video and extensively studied by the Russian government is her ability to move a compass needle and at the highth of her power the whole compass itself. This blew my mind, and I figured if she can do it why can't anyone. So I tried it, it was during one of my numerous attempts to move the compass needle that I was in total concentration, and was breathing or rather panting that I felt a burst of energy rush from my spine burning its way to the crown of my head, I felt a tremendous heat and actually caused the back of my skull to feel as if it had been clamped in a vise. This surge of hot energy, for lack of a better term, crept over my crown and around my head like!

It felt like nothing I had ever felt, It was like an electrical current and yet it felt more like swarms of insects were crawling beneath my skin, I felt as if my hair were standing on end-like I was grasping a Van de Graff generator. My breathing became very rhythmic and seemed to have a life of its own. The energy worked its way up my spine over my head and into my face and down into the core of my body spreading out into my hands and legs-I felt a centralizing in my palms of the energy. Afer the energy reached the top of my head, I felt a feeling of euphoria, I felt like superman and had unquenchable thirst and hunger. Scared that I was experiencing some kind of hyperventalation I finally managed to break rhythmic breathing and stop whatever it was-it took a few moments for the intense tingling to subside. Afterwards I was quite sure what the hell I had experienced-I honestly figured I was beginning to hyperventalate and !

It wasn't until I had read quite a bit further in that book, that I realized it perhaps may have been Kundalini-whatever that was. I have since gone through controlled rhythmic breathing experiments, and have experpienced many strange things: highthened awareness, slowing down of the sense of time, many coincidental experiences or synchronous events. And the strangest yet a monthly cycle, around each quarter moon, of activity beginning at the base of my spine whether I intiate it or not with breathing. This is many times awakened during the appropriate time in the month by intense running water like that ran when taking a bath-before you ever climb into the tub. This sometimes is so strong that I can feel the energy of the water swirling as it is being drawn from the facet. I also have had many a time when I hear a particularly striking piece of music and the Kundalini is awakened this happens any time of the month.
