----------------------------------

      THE FESTIVAL OF EASTER
To resurrect means to rise again, to get up from death and enter
into life.
The Path of Resurrection is depicted in the journey of the Prodigal
Son. First he left home and traveled to faraway lands. Thus he is the
symbol of each life, each pure spirit or atom of the Unmanifest Absolute
Being, who went away from the Father's House and descended into matter,
deeper and deeper, putting upon himself one body after another, until the
vibrations he contacted were strong enough for him to respond. Then the
unfoldment of consciousness began - and the ascent back to the Father - as
interaction with other lives caused awareness to appear, caused light, and
led on to more light: from form-imprisonment to more and more formless or
pure states, all the way to unalterable Being - but now in full
consciousness.
The journey from darkness into light, from the grave of form to
the state of pure Being, is the Path of Resurrection. Resurrection teaches
"the lifting of matter into heaven." It is not a one-time happening of the
physical body arising from the grave, but it is, continually, the potential
of each hour, each minute, to be born anew, to move on, to let go of the
past and choose the future.
In the measure that he is free from form, or pure in spirit, man
shall see God. And there will be no end to his seeing, because once a
degree of freedom is attained, greater freedom lies ahead. This is the
meaning of Infinity.
Resurrection implies more. It is not a return to an old state,
but a step toward Ascension. The grave is merely the transition from the
old to the new.
We had thought death to be the enemy; now it appears as the
prerequisite of life, for imprisonment in form is the very opportunity to
develop awareness. In the inconceivable order of creation, each stage, in
its right place, is necessary to the process of becoming - but the moment
the inner life expands, the old form must be left behind - it is
"outgrown."
So it is through death that we are born again. In giving up the
old patterns of thoughts and emotions, of methods, habits, beliefs, we can
meet every situation unconditioned by previous attachments; we are made
new. Just as in meditation there must come a point of silence, or dying to
previous activity, for a higher plane to be contacted, so there must come
in our lives a dying to the lower self, that we may enter into a new life.
Here also lies the secret of radiation - the spending, through love, of our
own substance for others, "giving one's life for one's friends." Higher
Energies fill the emptiness, and transmutation follows - resurrection, life
more abundantly.
There is a Power within us that will lead all the way to the
Infinite, a spiritual Warrior who wins all battles, who builds the New
through the agency of Light. Easter proclaims that Power, the triumphant
Christ, born of the union of the Father (Spirit) and the Mother (Matter) -
the Light of the World. Let each man recognize that the cosmic process is
repeated within himself, and see the miracle of Light which fills his
being, the I AM, the Hope of Glory, the Force of Resurrection itself.
--------------------
Meditation material for the Festival of Easter:

"Down from the mountain top I come,
bringing the light of Love, the love of God.
Into the chalice of all forms I meet,
I pour this Love, which light confers,
    this Love which life sustains.
I see the Love of life divine
pour through the form, my own and others.
 It heals and soothes.
 Thus is the task performed.
Thus is the man of earth transformed
    into a Son of God."

    Peace to All Beings

FULL MOON OF ARIES: CHART FOR PLANET EARTH

The Full Moon of Aries will be exact on Saturday, April 11, at 10:23 pm GMT
(Greenwich Mean Time). That's 6:23 pm EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) or April
12, 12:23 am CEDT (Central European Daylight Time). What follows is the
Sabian symbols and a few comments on the pattern of the chart of the Full
Moon, especially in regard to its meaning for the planet Earth. If you
would like a copy of the chart itself, drop me an email.

A horoscope is a map of the solar system (sometimes showing some stars) at
a particular moment in relation to a particular spot on Earth. This chart
is different. It ignores longitude and latitude and shows how the eclipse
will influence the planet as a whole.

The degrees of the planets and their relationship to each other are the
same at Full Moon for anyone on earth. But the way the chart should be
turned, what should be shown overhead or in the East, varies with your
geographical location.

We don't have a natal or birth horoscope for the Earth itself, but I've
been told to use an Ascendant of 18 Taurus for charts for the Earth. So
when I do a chart for the Earth, the first house always begins at 18
Taurus. The Sabian symbol for that degree is:

[Repeat]
"TAURUS 18 (EARTH): A NEW CONTINENT RISING OUT OF THE OCEAN.

"KEYNOTE: The surge of new potentiality after the crisis.

"The 'technique' is simple: TO ALLOW the infinite Potential to operate in
unconstrained SPONTANEITY. This means to have reached a state in which the
conscious, rational ego is no longer a controlling factor."

This is a transit chart; it shows where the planets will be at the moment
of the Full Moon, which is an opposition of the Sun and Moon. There's no up
or down, because it isn't done for any one place on Earth. All it shows is
where the planets will be, what patterns they will make, and what houses of
the Earth's chart they will be in.

The chart is circular; imagine the Earth in the center. The pattern drawn
in the center circle shows the aspects the planets make to each other.
This chart is dominated by a T-square formation, a pattern in which planets
are at three points of an imaginary square in the zodiacal plane, pointing
to the empty fourth point as a way to reconcile and channel the conflicting
and opposing energies. At one point of the T-square is a stellium in
Aries.

The Full Moon is the culmination or climax of the monthly cycle. Energies
are high, and it's the best time of the month to meditate.

SUN and Moon in a chart show male and female, outer self and inner self,
the basic energy of the chart and the capacity to distribute the energies.
In this chart the Sun is at 21 degrees of Aries, the degree occupied by
Saturn and Mercury at New Moon. It is part of the stellium in Aries (sign
of pioneering, new ventures, and the fast physical energy of Mars) in the
Earth's 12th house of hidden and secret things, psychic things, karma,
large institutions, things done in private, and research. The stellium
also includes Mercury, Mars, and Saturn - mind, body, and the Great Teacher.

"ARIES 21 (SUN): THE GATE TO THE GARDEN OF ALL FULFILLED DESIRES.

"KEYNOTE: Abundance made possible by human togetherness and cooperation.

"... a symbol of apparently wide-open and effortless fulfillment. Alone, a
human being can barely survive in nature's great life drama; in organized
groups men can in due time fulfill their desires. The abundant life is in
theory open to all. At least this is the ideal, the great dream. This
symbol can also be given an erotic meaning, referring to womanhood. ... the
goal of happiness dominates the consciousness of cultural man, the more
validly so the more modest his desires. Religious philosophies, like
American New Thought, glorify this social feeling of abundance, glamorizing
it into an avid cosmic OPTIMISM and a cult of success.

MERCURY is lower mind (intellect) and communication (speaking, writing). It
is retrograde, which is better for study and research than for open
communication or ease of mail delivery.

"ARIES 12' (MERCURY): AN UNEXPLODED BOMB REVEALS AN UNSUCCESSFUL SOCIAL
PROTEST.

"KEYNOTE: An immature evaluation of the possibility of transforming
suddenly the status quo.

"The symbol pictures the result of a particular attempt to resolve the
conflict between two concept-feelings of order. Resolution by violence
fails because the ego-power at this stage of the process of
individualization is far too strong. "The State" thwarts attempts at
popular revolution, because these are premature expressions of a
consciousness which is not free, but can only react "wildly" to constraint
and to a central ruling power. It is thus a symbol of immature refusal to
conform, in the name of an over-idealistic desire for harmony and peace.

"A negative attempt at reconciling the spiritual ideal and the very earthly
reality, denying the validity of the latter. It suggests ADOLESCENT
FRUSTRATION."

SATURN is the Great Teacher that brings lessons to be learned, through
which we grow. It is the principle of contraction and condensation, planet
of cold, slow things; attention to detail; and practicality and the
traditional planet of death.

Saturn with the Sun could show something hampering the expression of the
will and/or some sort of depression. Saturn with Mars could show a
slowness to act and/or a slowness or depression associated with physical
causes. The best way to use this energy would be to employ Saturn's
attention to detail and order in careful work or research, especially in
areas associated with the body and its energies and/or hospitals or other
large institutions.

"ARIES 23' (SATURN): BLOWN INWARD BY THE WIND, THE CURTAINS OF AN OPEN
WINDOW TAKE THE SHAPE OF A CORNUCOPIA.

"KEYNOTE: Openness to the influx of spiritual energies.

"The principle of abundance is [seen] in this rather cryptic symbol.
Fruition is shown operating at a subtle and spiritual level. The wind
(pneuma, spirit) blows through the open mind-window and brings into the
house of personality a promise of more-than-material potency. Wind blows
from a region of high pressure to one of low pressure. As the window
curtains are blown inward, the individual consciousness represented by the
house is receiving a more concentrated influx of spiritual energies,
enabling this consciousness to extend the scope of its awareness and
creative expression.

"...Inner growth demands not just an open mind but one able to provide a
container for a spiritual harvest. The cornucopian shape of the window's
curtains suggests that the subtler translucent aspect of the mind (the
curtains) has acquired a plastic quality enabling it to be MOLDED BY
TRANSPERSONAL FORCES."

MARS is the action planet, planet of physical expression and energy,
traditionally the god of war. It is the second planet, with the Sun, that
shows the masculine principle and/or male figures. It is in its own sign,
which makes it especially strong.

"ARIES 29' (MARS): A DUCK POND AND ITS BROOD.

"KEYNOTE: The realization of natural boundaries.

"...What is shown here is that every form of activity has its limits, and
that even the consciousness that has been able to get a glimpse of
universal order has to bring down to its own "karmic" field of operation
the message of harmony it has heard inwardly. Peace and inner contentment
with one's essential destiny (dharma) is required to meet the everyday
world. The mystic may experience flights of imagination and transcendent
vision, but he must return to the concrete earth and to his task in his
social environment. Extensive as the latter may seem it is still very small
compared to the galactic field; it is indeed a duck pond com-pared to the
ocean. But it is there that the substance for concrete action has to be
found, and every effective activity has to be focused; thus the boundaries
imposed by the very nature of this activity have to be consciously
accepted.

"...Potency has to become substantiated - it has to mate with substance -
in order to be effective power. Power must accept the principle of
FOCALIZATION."

The MOON is opposite the Sun at 21 degrees of Libra, sign of balance, in
the 6th house of health and work. Moon opposite Saturn and Mars could show
opposition or oppression of women and/or female students or a slowness in
distribution of the basic energy of the period.

The Moon is with Spica and Arcturus.

"LIBRA 21' (MOON): A CHILD GIVING BIRDS A DRINK AT A FOUNTAIN.

"KEYNOTE: The concern of simple [or childlike] souls for the welfare and
happiness of less-evolved beings who thirst for life renewal.

"...Man, who has built the fountain - perhaps on arid land and through
skillful work - gives the life-bestowing water to the thirsting birds. He
does not go to the sea, but he brings the purified, drinkable water to the
birds needing it. The connection between 'child' and 'birds' implies a
spontaneous, naive rapport at the spiritual level, a soul-touch at the
level of pure feelings.

"What you received from the Infinite, you can give to the infinite beings
that thirst for it. Man does not need to destroy nature's wilderness
through greed and carelessness; he can transform this wilderness into a
garden, whose singing fountains will attract birds. We can use here Marc
Jones's Keyword for this degree: SOLICITUDE."

NEPTUNE is the planet of the subconscious and inspiration from/through it,
illusions, delusions, and dreams. It is in the 9th house of religion,
philosophy, and higher education and has moved into 2 degrees Aquarius,
sign of group consciousness/activity. It is square Mars and widely square
the Sun/Moon opposition. It shows possible conflicts in those areas
through illusion, delusion, subterfuge, etc.

"AQUARIUS 2' (NEPTUNE): A DESERTER FROM THE NAVY.

"KEYNOTE: The individual's self-realization through a crucial repudiation
of a collective status which has become unbearable.

"The fact that actual "desertion" is emphasized and reference is made to
"the Navy" suggests that the crisis symbolized here is one implying an
irrevocable change of status. Man refuses to accept the type of cultural
patterns derived from his society's specific approach to local
circumstances and to the universe as a whole, and in another sense, from
its particular relationship to the all-human collective Unconscious. (The
Navy refers to the ocean, symbol of primordial and unconscious evolutionary
forces.) He not only refuses to obey orders, he deliberately turns his back
on his collective social status; he becomes an outcast, and through this
decision he may definitely individualize his consciousness.

"Something with collective social value is being potentially destroyed, but
nature is not the destroyer. Man, the individual, steps out of his bondage
to collective patterns and ideals. He may thus "find himself' by means of a
sharp renunciation of his social birthright, i.e. by a crucial process of
DESOCIALlZATION."

Neptune is conjunct Altair (alpha Aquilae), "a pale yellow star sometimes
called the 'Bird of Jove,'" said to give prophetic vision and a serious
mind.

KARMIC POINT: The T-square formation points to the degree opposite
Neptune, Leo 2. This is called the "karmic point" and is said to show the
best means of resolution and expression of the conflicting and opposing
energies.

"LEO 2 (KARMIC POINT): A MIDDLE-AGED WOMAN, HER LONG HAIR FLOWING OVER HER
SHOULDERS AND IN A BRA-LESS YOUTHFUL GARMENT.

"KEYNOTE: The will to meet the challenge of age in terms of our modern
society's glorification of youth.

"While the original reading of the symbol over fifty years ago spoke of the
mature woman having dared to bob her hair, today a similar kind of
rebellion against aging and the customs of late middle age would manifest
itself in different ways. The meaning of the symbol can be extended to any
desire an individual woman would have to claim her right to experiences of
youth which may have been denied to her, especially when according to the
fashion of the day such experiences are considered highly valuable.

"This ... symbol implies a reorientation of one's ideal of action in
relation to the collective mentality of the social environment; more
particularly, a refusal by the individualized consciousness to be bound by
biological or social standards. The Keyword: INDEPENDENCE."

URANUS, the higher octave of Mercury, is the planet of intuition;
high-level electric energy; sudden occurrences; and strange, unusual,
exotic things and people. It is a triple sign and considered bisexual. It's
the ruler of Aquarius, sign of the new age, and it is in its own sign.

"AQUARIUS 12 (URANUS): A BAROMETER.

"KEYNOTE: The Ability to discover basic natural facts that allow us to plan
in advance for action.

"Here we are ... dealing ... with natural laws which involve causal
relationships and the passage of one natural condition into another. The
barometer registers air pressure, and a change of pressure today gives some
indication of what the weather will be tomorrow. In a sense this is the
modern scientific equivalent of archaic prognostication through omens.
Likewise, animals grow a more or less thick fur in early autumn according
to whether the winter will be more or less severe. Planning for the near
future is a possibility because the potential (or seed) of the future is
already operating at the core of the present.

"This ... symbol ... tells us that it is most important to seek - by
whatever means and at whatever level of consciousness - a knowledge of
causal progression. In the broadest sense this implies an awareness of
cyclic processes, and this includes astrology. The Keyword is ANTICIPATION."

Uranus is opposite a group of three stellar objects at 8-9 Leo - the two
Aselli (Asses) and the beautiful cluster Praesepe. The old books call 8 Leo
a "degree of blindness," but I have found it to be prominent in the charts
of spiritual/psychic people. So I think those degrees have to do with
light, insight, illumination, etc.

CHIRON is a recently discovered planetoid or small planet that seems to be
connected to healing and teaching. Chiron was the legendary/mythical
teacher of Centaurs and some men. A Centaur himself, he was only partly
human. A human/alien Wise Old Man figure.

Chiron is still on the Descendant, the point of marriage and partnership,
but now at 17 Scorpio.

"SCORPIO 17' (CHIRON): A PATH THROUGH WOODS BRILLIANT WITH MULTICOLORED
SPLENDOR.

"KEYNOTE: The exalted feeling of a work well done and a truly consummated
life.

"The person who has lived with faith the transpersonal life - the life
through which spirit radiates creatively - can experience blessedness and
peace, even though his or her cycle of experience nears its end. It has
been a life full of seed. The seeds are hidden perhaps, yet they are filled
with the power to overcome cyclic death. The soul is at peace. The clear
autumnal sky silently intones the great message: 'Well done, little man!'

"[Here] we see the smile of the youth brought to a more mature, more
spiritual culmination. Human nature is a magnificent symphony of warm, rich
colors, now that the strictly biological green of vegetation experiences
its TRANSFIGURATION."

PLUTO, planet of death, transformation, and rebirth; sex; the occult;
change that may appear sudden but has been growing for some time; depth
psychology; and things that are underground or come from underground
[Kundalini?], is in the Earth's house of marriage and partnership.

Pluto is still near conjunction with Antares (alpha Scorpii) and opposite
Aldebaran (alpha Tauri). This axis is extremely powerful and the energies
are difficult to handle.

"SAGITTARIUS 7 (Pluto): WITHIN THE DEPTHS OF THE EARTH NEW ELEMENTS ARE
BEING FORMED.

"KEYNOTE: The alchemical fire which both purifies and transforms the very
substance of man's inner life.

"Forces are at work in the deepest layers of the psyche which in their own
way respond to the outer stimulation produced by a strong involvement in
group ambitions and emotions, and even more by the powerful tensions and
releases of love. An alchemical process goes on, usually unnoticed by the
conscious ego, until it becomes obvious that a kind of mutation has taken
place and a new level of awareness and of responses to life has been
reached.

"[Here] we deal with both the basic rhythm of growth of the human being and
the reaction to more individualized experiences which aroused the emotions.
The very substance of the person's nature undergoes modifications, on the
basis of which a new step may be taken. The symbol draws our attention to
the inner changes. We have to become aware of them. What is implied is a
kind of PSYCHIC GESTATION."

JUPITER, the Major Fortune, the principle of expansion, is now moving into
the 11th house of group activities and ideals and hopes.

It is conjunct the star Achernar.

"PISCES 15' (JUPITER): IN THE QUIET OF HIS STUDY A CREATIVE INDIVIDUAL
EXPERIENCES A FLOW OF INSPIRATION.

"KEYNOTE: Reliance upon one's inner source of inspiration or guidance.

"[Here] we are dealing with various aspects of the process that enables man
to 'con-firm,' formulate and perpetuate the original creative impulse which
has become self-actualized in a myriad of ways throughout the cycle, short
or long as the cycle may be. This first symbol strikes the keynote of truly
significant creative processes: their source is above, beyond, but also
around the individual creator. The inspiration, original and individual
though it may be, is given a form which is conditioned by the cultural,
social and religious background of the creative person. In a sense, every
genius merely records an answer to the needs of his time. The hands that
write, play an instrument, or mold a plastic material are his own; the urge
or drive back of the flow of inspiration has arisen in the vast collective
mind of Man.

"The individual aspect of the creative process is emphasized as is the
individual's need for concentration and at least inner quiet. He must have
faith in his own SUBJECTIVE STRENGTH."

VENUS, ruler of the Earth chart, is still in the 10th house of career and
fame, public appearance, etc., and is now conjunct the South Node.

Venus is the Minor Fortune, the planet of the emotions; beauty, sense of
beauty, and pursuits or occupations related to beauty; and social "savvy."
It is also the second symbol (with the Moon) of the feminine principle
and/or woman/women in a chart.

Venus is with Deneb Adige in Cygnus, the Swan, and Fomalhaut.

"PISCES 5 (VENUS): A PARADE OF ARMY OFFICERS IN FULL DRESS.

"...The socializing process is pictured in all its intensity but what is
implied even more is the support that the socialized person can expect from
the collectivity if he is ready to act and to sacrifice himself for the
nation or the group.

"The Keyword is GROUP-RESPONSIBILITY."

The Moon's South Node (the Dragon's Tail) is considered a point of group
karma in the East. It is still square Pluto.

"PISCES 8 (JUPITER): A JOCKEY SPURS HIS HORSE, INTENT ON OUTDISTANCING HIS
RIVALS.

"KEYNOTE: Intense mobilization of energy and skill in the drive for success
in any social performance affected by the competitive spirit.

"Since the end of the archaic ages and the stressing of individualism,
especially in our American society which worships the material images of
'success,' the desire to win any kind of 'race' engenders an often-feverish
release of energy controlled by technical skill and long practice. ...it
indicates the need to spur one's total being toward speedy attainment of
whatever goal it may be.

"Every superfluous 'weight,' every unnecessary consideration is to be
dismissed in the one-pointed attempt to reach one's social goal.
SELF-QUICKENING may be the Keyword."

The North Node or Dragon's Head, point of ease of expression or personal
karma, is at 8 Virgo conjunct Alioth and Zosma (delta Leonis) at 10
degrees. This star is often found in the horoscopes of bisexual/homosexual
people.

"VIRGO 8' (NORTH NODE): AN EXPRESSIONIST PAINTER AT WORK.

"KEYNOTE: The urge to express one's individualized sense of value
regardless of tradition.

"The individual is seen reacting against cultural standards and stereotyped
ways of interpreting his perceptions. This is a statement of uncompromising
self-reliance, which may even imply a kind of defiance and a challenge to
society. The mind is seeking to discover the character of the basic and
true foundation of individual selfhood, the AUM tone (or logos) of
individual being. In the process, however, what is expressed is usually the
reflection of a deep catharsis with emotionally charged and often tragic
overtones.

"This ... symbol brings to us the hint of a technique of transformation of
the personality. What predominates is a sense of inner conflict and an
overselfconscious attempt at 'being oneself.' But there is a great
difference between being an origin of development pregnant with futurity,
and deliberately sought for ORIGINALITY."

Blessings on you all in your imagineering!

Dear K-List,
On the subject of books, may I recommend 'Daughter of Fire' by Irina Tweedie
(published by Golden Sufi Center and available from Amazon; or its abridgement
'Chasm of Fire'), which is the sometimes harrowing but always fascinating
account of a woman's 5 year training at the hands of a Sufi master in India in
the 1960s. A good part of it also details her experiences with kundalini. Mrs.
Tweedie was an English theosophist in her 50s who went to India seeking
enlightenment and obtained it. She subsequently became a well-known Sufi
teacher in London, where she still lives aged 90. The book is a diary of her
training, written at the insistence of her teacher, and describes the
progressive and painful grinding down of her ego. A wonderful lady (I met her
several times about a decade ago) and an inspiring book, especially for women.

Perhaps some of you are already familiar with it?

With blessings,
Alan

Ah, to be clear.. stopping the list is not an option for discussion.. I
plan to maintain it forever.. but I was wondering about moving it to a
different list server.

Dear Gloria,
Easter draws nearer. God will be resurrected. When this happens old ideas must be thrown away and a higher understanding come into being. As a principle, a myth or God Almighty Jesus Christ is an inspiration and this will be reborn.

I do not question the death, resurrection or existence of God.
When open to the possibility of the Impossible it comes into Being.
So let us imagine that death is a good thing. That God in us has died.
Whatever next? A miracle perhaps?

Be Well My Dear Friends
God is Dead

Some people have gone on retreats to different parts of the world. Where? Usually peaceful, calm places. Well Northern Ireland has very peaceful places and could do with the transformational energy. The next time you go on are are involved in a retreat. Move it closer to the worlds pain - not away from it. Share the energy . . .
