Dan: thx for that info.

Ed Jason: no nit picking intended.

All: Does it not say a lot that _some_ heads of state, at least, are
saying things like that in actual politcal discourse? Pretty inspiring,
that fact.

Ideas of an achievable goal are in the main created as a means to
growth not as a reality in themselves. The idea of chakras as actual
centers having objective existence is not helped by the various numbers
of these, used by different systems. These centers are opened usually in
a linear order but not exclusively. The actual reason for focus on
internal and external deities, colours, sounds, points of energy etc. is
because these help to amplify various experiences that the individual is
undergoing.
The idea of identity dependent on cosmic reality is as nonsensical as
the idea of the independent universe. It is ourselves who are the cause
of our own existence. Similarly the idea of an eventual resting is
based on the need for a conclusive answer. The experience of absorption
in pure being does not make the individual pure being just as the
thought of a unicorn is not a unicorn. Even a real unicorn is a
subjective reality.
The only thing we can say about an ultimate is that it does not exist.
Change is a certainty and certainty is open to change. People need to
realize that the finite is the cause of the infinite. They try to reach
an end point on a circle, wondering why they are always travelling. It
is the realisation of change and the acceptance of transition that is a
form of realisation. You do not arrive but become aware that arrival and
departure are part of travelling. In this sense there is nowhere to go
that you have not been.

Darkness was hidden in darkness. ...
Only that God who sees in highest heaven: he only knows whence comes
this universe, and whether it was made or uncreated. He only knows, or
perhaps he knows not.
Rig Veda x. 129

that is all
there is no need of true ideas
there aren't any
