Vipassana meditation has already been introduced in Delhi Tihar
jail (maximum security jail of India) and other state jails since last
three years.
It was introduced for the first time in feb 97 in Yerwada jail in
Poona where I live. As I was already in contact for service with
vipassana association at their regular Poona centre and supplying them
with vegetable and fruits, Iwas asked to do the same for the prison'
Some 104 prisoners took up this meditation course in first batch.
A separate enclosure inside the prison was alloted by the authorities.
This enclosure was big enough to accomodate four big halls and an small
liberary. Two halls were alloted to the prisones (52 in each hall) for
night rest and at night they were locked in the hall after counting them.
One hall was made meditation hall where everyday for 10 days
meditation was taught for 12 hours each day. fourth hall was converting
into kitchen and storage. And library was converted into residence for
two teachers and one manager for 10 days. I was the outsider coming in
and going out. 10 to 12 more prisoners were brought from Nasik jailto
serve and cook for these 104 prisoners. these prisoners were selected as
they had gone through 3 to 5 courses of 10 days earlier in Nasik prison
and were fit for service.
104 prisoners were on complete silence for 10 days and hence
other than sitting with them in the same hall for meditation I had no
verbal communication with them except after the end fof course.
Here below is the conversation with one of the prisoners who was
in service.
Ram..I hope you are not a murderer . You have been serving me
with food water tea etc. with such genuine love for all these days'
Prisoner..I genuily like serving other persons and taking care of
them gives me pleasure, but yes I had killed two people for witch I am in
the prison. Even before prison life Iliked helping people.
 R..What happened?
P.. My neighboures used to always harass us. I used to live in
Ulhasnagar near Bombay in small one room cottage with my elder brother
and his wife and childern. They used to my bhabhi( elder brother's wife).
so one day I got very angry and took a sickle and hit a person again and
again for atleast 40 to 50 times. Iwanted him to be killed completely .
As i had never killed any one before , I did not know that very few blows
were needed. So I went on hitting him again and again. After some time
his other brother came with knife , so to protect myself i had to kill
him also. My elder brother also came to help me and he is also in prison.
Later after some time I went to the police station and confesed
to the murders. But they would not beleive my confession and told me to
go and sit outside as they were busy. Only when the murdered relatives
came for complaints they took me in.
R.. Why no outsider came to interfere and save the murdered person.
P..There were a lot of witnesses alround but no one came near for
fear of theirs, etc..

 About my fear.....
Not on first contact with them. All of them were looking very ordinary
Later when I read the crime list and more than 80 were murderes, Itook
some precautions (must be subconscious fear). I used to drive my car with
vegetables and fruits inside to kitchen and leave it there for 2-3 hours
of meditation with the prisoners. One day my son told me what if one of
the prisoners with a weapon hides in the car for escaping, and while
going out , he points the weapon at you to escape the guards .
My car used to be thorouhly checked by guards while going in
l;and out. All the guards were outside the main enclosure as during
meditation the prisoners were not to be disturbed , even looking at the
guards might disturb lthe prisoners.
So next day onwards I will unload and park thecar outside the
enclosure as a precaution.
Kitchen service prisoners used to handle big knives , and seeing
them with the knives brought on some thought may be fear.
100 of such courses have been gone through in India prisons since
last three years, and nothing has happened.
 So probably no much fear.
  Love
     Ram

I am the audience who has been led, but to say it was on an emotional journey
is an understatement!

The ideal situation for me is close to the stage and standing. I can sway or
bop but no dancing. . . too distracting for me.

After listening to Dave Hole, a slide guitar bluesman from Australia, at an
intimate local concert I commented (when I could once again talk) that I
didn't care if I died. I felt so satisfied. It was involuntary,
spontaneous, unexpected, wonderful, totally satisfying. A musical orgasm.
Music activates body, mind, and spirit, and unifies them into an incredible
experience. And it is consciousness changing!

Sonny Landreth can do wondrous things with his guitar, too. I wonder if all
musicians know what they do or what they are capable of. I think the good
ones do.

Music is vibration artwork.

Have a question...My kundalini was released back in Nov of 96 by accident.
Maybe from my body being totaling twisted by a yogi with pure presure and my
part on meditation traveling into a spiritual nature. After feeling so much
energy within and many other things..I read the what effects it has on a
person. Then visited a kundalini guru for advise which was then told it was
true about my release. ...Now I seem to crack every bone in my body trying to
release some energy inside me. Constantly moving my head around, feet
..twisting my arms in directions, my back ..everything to calm the flow or in
trying to control it. It seems the energy wishes to escape from within.
....Is this natural and will it continue?? thanks penoflove

Dear Group,

I have just finished a mandala project which tracks the kundalini
teachings through out all of the major religions and philosophies.

What is interesting to myself is that the oldest bases of this code is
in the Sanskrit language itself. As a pattern Sanskrit has 50
characters and the 'Rig Veda' is written in 40 syllables per stanza.

5040 was one of Plato's favorite numbers. It is also the mean radius of
the earth and moon combined.

The name for Sanskrit script is Devanagari, translated it means "city of
gods". Both Plato and St. John of Revelations called there heavenly
cities, "city of god".

When the kundalini tree is investigated in relationship to the Sanskrit
alphabet it has fifty petals.

The mandala that is constructed with a compass has 50 primary circles
and 40 secondary circles.

I have built a small web page with the mandala and many graphical
comparisons. I would like to get feedback before I continue further
into this work. At this point the most effective use of the mandala is
when it is combined with the Bija mantra. The proportions of the mantra
are then chanted into place using the positions indicated by the
mandala.

During the meditation process the "MeKaBa" or light body geometrics are
experienced. I submit this material in the prospective that the
constructs of the "light body" has a inherent pattern or form within
each one of us. To me is was the seerers of ancient India who first
encoded this pattern into the veda's and mandalic teachings.

In the light of the New Age it is quite easy to turn all of these
ancient human teachings, numeric codes, and geometric constructs into
theories of UFO's and alien ancestors. To me these patterns and
teachings have grown out of lineages of meditation masters. As they saw
they encoded.

As Buddha is qouted to once have said, "The entire mandala can be found
on my six foot body". Be humble, be human.

I was at my brothers house when I was young, probably 12 when I noticed a
small paperback book on yoga. I read the whole thing and ever since I have
been interested in yoga.
I also have always loved music, playing the trumpet when I was younger and
now play guitar. Music not only moves the emotion but the energy.
When I was fourteen I started up in an Isshin-Ryu karate class and was
blessed to have an incredible teacher.

I believe it was the combination of these things that awakened the energy
in me and allowed me to become sensitive to it. That and the love I had.
I didn't necessarily want the 'magic' that the yoga book claimed as much
as I as I dreamed of a world filled with magic. Now I know my dream is true.

When I turned sixteen, i was in highschool walking down the halls and
started feeling a subtle energy between my hands and the floor. If I
pointed them at the overhead florescent lights it would get stronger.
Slowly the energy has matured from those tingles into a full blown love.

Now I still have dislikes, but I find it hard to dislike anyone.

I have a wife and two children,(22 months and 4 months) and I can see the
magic in all of them. And the world is full of magic.

I wish all of this magic on everyo ne!

Just wanting to share how things started out for me since I have noticed a
few new non lurkers out there.

Peace and love

The Phenomenal Universe
Remember; we are all walking around in our own Muladhara Chackras - Your
inner self "writ large". What you see is what you are. Thus shines the
wisdom of the Bhuddist who becomes Bodhisattva (abode of Akasha). They
vibrate the mantra of instant enlightenment with every movement -
"Yadihasti tadanyatra yannehasti natatkvachit" - "What is here is
elsewhere: What is not here is nowhere" -Vishvasara Tantra. Thus every
object and person becomes a personal adventue in Serpent awareness, and
so arises the science of Feng Shui. Before you, is spread a living Tarot
for you to read - Omens - Pathways - labyrinths - with many signs to
guide the way. For light, you have the sun by day and the stars and moon
by night. When there is total darkness at eclipse, you know that there
can be no light without darkness -Yin is in Yang, and Yang in Yin. Yoni
is nurtured and brought to fruition, and thus all is confirmed and
conspires to illuminate.
I overheard these snippits of conversation, the other day in a store
near my house. Now, I live in a strange neighborhood and the
storekeepers name (so he says) is Lucifer(light bearer). What a
character! But, be that as it may, I was wondering if anybody knows what
all this means - or anything for that matter. The locals here are
strange, but I did have the feeling that there was some wisdom here
perhaps. Now these people, are rather crude, and are not self proclaimed
enlightened Yogi's or Shaktipaters or even snowmobile buffs - but I
can't seem to get this conversation out of my mind, so I thought I would
share it with you. My question is--Can one find Kundalini at the grocery
store? If so, why? If not, why? Also If one can find Kundalini at the
grocery store--how does one keep the serpent in the shoping cart till
one gets to the checkout counter. Should I shop elsewher and does anyone
have any good kundalini recipes--I like fried food--LaVaRaYaHaAum

Funny :(
So many normal people think of killing and murder
wether through film, video or games
and take no pleasure in serving any but themselves
Funny and a little sad . . .

When the snake rises and rises further
She lives with terror and horror
Welcome to the Kundalini line active participation dept. :)

Previously you mentioned total agreement
with all my blabbing
We are the same Person in different prisons
May be going to jail myself
provided security clearance is forthcoming

It would be foolish on an open forum
to say that Saints and "Sinners"
are closer to each other than to other people
but that is why we bless the misguided
and curse the Saint with another oppurtunity to forgive
You also mention the need to change your meditation
to your own prescription
One of the greatest rewards/dangers of meditation is
relaxation and tranquillity
How to cope with excess?
Also you mentioned people entering your "prison"
In Sri Lanka this is known as "cage jumping"
Such abilities are wonderfully unimportant
There is only one ability worthwhile
To change oneself and those around one
to the higher perspective
Such is real Power
and that is just given away . . .

Strut . . . Strut . . . Strut
"I am clever than you"
"I give advice"
"I take it"
"I am a doughnut"
Strut . . . Strut . . . Strut

If you think you may have been scathing
change you message (Da da - Lobster sweeps away the

You know it makes sense . . .

will all give us some advice
perhaps on their more profound understanding?

LOVE

Hello
Love in the Morning
Love in the Evening
Love.
Oh you see me in the innocents smile
and the majesty of a thousand suns setting
and the glory of mountains peeked
but
Love is in rejection and hurt
good is in all of Life
and I Love have given you life
the Power to free this Vision
for I have given you the free choice
to hate
even Love
but should we Dance Together
Love with love
Together we will be the Freedom

Very few people are interested in spirituality.
They are interested in bliss, experiences
feelings of worth, weird practises.
When people are asked to:
"Be Kind"
"Be Yourself"
"Share your time"
they want to know how to pronounce these mantras
When people are told:
"Be Still"
"Take your time"
"Enjoy yourself"
they want to know the best time of day for this . . .

share a nice dinner of Yoga recipes galore....Yogi's have to eat, you know
and their population is steadily on the increase, : )

I don't think there is anything to run away from as you probably have a nice
early warning system, lucky you.

Granted, I should really read through my mail before I start to reply to 3
day old postings, but the issue of taxes gets my fire going.

Ever wonder who *exactly* makes up those numbers in the tax booklets?
and how the come up with their math
6500 if you're single
13000 if you're married (or something like that)
subtract this from that
look in the book
this is how much you
MUST PAY!

IT'S ALL BULLSHIT

Taxes are all about
manipulation
control
power
keeping people poor
so the rich can get richer

But wait, you asked for inspiration
not pissing and moaning :-)

My inspiration comes from holding
a vision of the United State's
economic structure crumbling to rubble
as greed and avarice
consumes itself

Sure, the chaos will be unbelievable
anarchy may even result
but cooler heads will prevail
and those of us with the light
will help people find the way
as society picks itself up from nothing

We just have to come together
and rebuild more wisely
than it was built originally

in Love and Vision,

Cameron

Re: My last letter about Phil

If Leigh is romantically involved with Phil, then perhaps she better go
shopping with him. Perhaps the new friend will be a nice centinarian
who can serve as a guru, for Leigh's sake. : )

I have to agree...there are far too many postings of alien intrusion and
world damnation going around as of late...please stop and lets talk about
what this list was inteded for.
