oops, my sig file didn't make it the first time...

Hello all,
I had written an article for the Seattle Area Spiritual Emergence
Network (SASEN) Newsletter about Kundalini Resources on the Web.
I added it to my website. It may serve as a starting point to
reach other sites. It probably would do well to update it, as
it has been a few months since I searched for new sites. I would
welcome input from others about your favorite K sites.

In light,

I'm sure I'll get a load of feedback on this, but -----
For heaven's sake, please rely a little more on the heart. It sound as if so
many of you (particularly guys) are coming from the mental body. There
should be a balance of these two subtle bodies, regardless of K.

Life is not ruled by just doing the *right* steps at the right time in
the right way. Some of us have had K awaken without any of that, without
even knowing what it was. We have to flow with it or go under. (I've heard
it called "Tuck and Roll" on this list.) No steps, no rules, no right or
wrong way, just go with the flow, get in touch with intuition and feelings,
and hope for the best; trusting all the while that what is right for growth
and evolution will happen.

Please don't just *think* about it before you respond, how do you *feel*?

Lovingly,

Kat

It won't do any good. It's like a nightmare. It will just keep going on and
on.....

When I stupidly put myself on this mailing list I had no idea I'd be finding
a huge message base in my mail every day.

I asked to be removed -- but to no avail....

This seems to be happening to quite a few people.

We need the kundalini police.

Many cannot seem to deal with the excessive number of posts sent through
the mailing list each day. There are two possible solutions:

I. Force everyone to post things related to kundalini and kundalini alone.

II. Tell everyone how to get a copy of Howard Stephen Berg's book on super
reading. :-)

As I type, there are some fireworks outside giving the night a
surrealistic mood. Almost as if I did not expect to be on this path, and
yet despite my expectations I am content. It is less than I wanted and
more than I needed. What fun, what fun.

P.S. Either the list is screwed up or no one read the help file sent to
them when they subscribed.

As soon as we figure out exactly what is NOT related to Kundalini, the
basic force of the entire universe... um...then we will draw up strict rules
of posting acceptability, and enforce them by ahhh....um, it gets stuck at
that part too, eh?
  Where are the Kundalini police?

More often they complain because we are overflowing our wisdom on thier
boss' time and computer.

Expectations, I think are the main cause of discontent.

Nope, nobody does. Makes me laugh and laugh.

The list might be screwed up, but it works okay for me...
In fact, this week I very easily unsubscribed several people who it turns
out were quite indignant about it, but I figured if their mailbox has been
returning posts for several weeks, including returning my inquiries as to
whether they had died...they were gone.
Not so, apparently. For folks who are not getting thier mail, they sure
complained quickly.
Well, I don't complain about my mailbox stuffed with error messages from
the servers of folks who might be better off subscribing to the digest so
that they are not sending bounced posts everywhere when they run out of room
to store our missives of fabulous wisdom...

Nutmeg - just thought I'd keep that post going for one more horrific email.

As for non K related topics overflowing mailboxes, I have a wild new concept!

If only one person, or a small select group are interested in the emails,
send it directly to them. If people want to be included in the
conversations, they can always write directly to the sender of the first
message and ask to be updated. Although many messages are fun for all to
follow, I think only four or five people were into the barrage of Nutmeg
related letters. I wrote the first one and was completely flabbergasted when
I saw endless replys. This is my second post on Nutmeg to this list! Also,
if the topic changes to the point where it deals with another topic, please
change the subject so I don't trash it automatically. I don't read all my
email because I get too much. Some days I sign on just so I can delete
everything not mailed directly to me.

Technically, I think the answer is that the hara is not perceived as a
chakra at all. There are three tan-tiens in Taoist physiology, each of
which is a location for the storage of energy. Roughly speaking these
three do correspond to chakra areas, but their intended use is different.
As for the heart chakra, the shen is said to reside in the heart--a common
translation for shen is heart-mind. When the shen travels up into the
head, discursive thought becomes possible, when it sinks down into the
abdomen, thought is silenced. This is another reason for the emphasis on
the lower position.

That is odd. There could be a reason why you are still here. Some higher

-- [ From: Gardner (Spud) Reynolds * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] --

Howdy k-ites:
With all this talk of nutmeg, I am reminded that I have never posted
info to the list about the use of "mind-altering" substances and the
Sacred Serpent Flame in the purview of the Book of the Law. To wit:

On the Kundalini

>From Liber Al vel Legis (The Book of the Law):

Chapter II, verses 22 & 26:
22.I am the Snake that giveth Knowledge & Delight and bright glory, and
stir the hearts of men with drunkenness. To worship me take wine and
strange drugs whereof I will tell my prophet & be drunk thereof! It is a
lie, this folly against self. The exposure of innocence is a lie. Be
strong, o man! lust, enjoy all things of sense and rapture; fear not
that any god shall deny thee for this.

26. I am the secret Serpent coiled about to spring: in my coiling there
is joy. If I lift up my head, I and my Nuit are one. If I droop down
mine head, and shoot forth venom, then is rapture of the earth, and I
and the earth are one.

For those unfamiliar with Liber Al vel Legis; it is the document,
originally written on April 8, 9 and 10 of 1904, which is the foundation
of the Aeon of Horus (commonly called the New Age). It is quite short,
compared to most works of Holy Writ, and is composed of three chapters,
each dictated to the English adept, Frater Perdurabo.(Aleister Crowley).
The first is comprised of the words of the goddess Nuit, "Our Lady of
the Stars", the sky goddess who, in a more mystical sense, is the soul
of infinite space. She is usually pictured as blue and star-filled and
is shown arcing crescent-like over creation
The second chapter are the words of the god, Hadit, the male counterpart
or consort of Nuit. He is generally depicted as a winged globe. As Nuit
is glyph of the manifest Universe, or "the seen"; so Hadit is the
omnipresent point of consciousness, "the seer."
The third chapter is ascribed to Ra-Hoor-Khuit, the primary child of the
union of Nuit and Hadit. He is the hawk-headed sun god. He is the major
star that we on earth perceive in the firmament of Nuit.
It is with Hadit that this essay is most concerned. Hadit is the
kundalini in its most exalted sense. He is symbolized in the dress of
ancient Egypt by the hooded cobra at the front of the nemyss worn by
pharaoh and various deities. To rule properly in ancient Egypt it was
necessary to have the kundalini or Serpent Flame fully risen. This gave
pharaoh divine sight and perfect wisdom, necessary to the functioning of
the head of state.
This is similar to the way of the Maya of Mesoamerica. A Mayan king had
to be the mediator between gods and men. He must have divine sight to
perform his duties correctly. When the king lost this power, the Maya
fell. Much the same thing occurred in ancient Egypt.
Today, because of the advent of the Book of the Law and its effect on
modern men and women, the knowledge and practice of the use of this most
potent spiritual force is on the rise in society. Many people are no
longer content with using "one-eighth of the brain" and are seeking to
understand and use the chakkras, the spinal cord and the brain as they
were originally intended to be used: as one comprehensive entity united
in the force of the Serpent Flame.
The important thing to know and remember about effective use of the
kundalini is that, to take full advantage of it, it must be done
according to the methodology of the Book of the Law, as described in the
quotations above. Only then can the full measure of its power be
achieved.
The old order changeth, yielding place to new.

I think is one final rule for kundalini: follow what feels right
inside. Believing some complicated methodology defeats the whole purpose
of practicing it. Practicing methodology may be necessary as a
means to an end but it must be realized as a metaphor. Taking some drug
is not some absolute sin(against yourself of course), it could be good or
bad. I think the potential is there to really break down your model of
the universe and show you the relativity of the universe with
these mystic drugs. However, I don't think the answers can be found from
taking these, maybe some hints and a good point of reference to help
"break through" the mundane plane for meditation practice. Frequent
and habitual use of them is obviously defeating their whole purpose and
playing with fire, but overall, I think they have the potential to be
real "eye openers" under the right set and setting and an optomistic
attitude, not "this is frying my brain!!!", which is obviously a lie,
unless it is actually believed.

Ah, now I know what Kat meant . . .
- and Yep too much thinking.
The chakras do not exist in this 1,2,3 open the crown sort of way
one blends into another
In some systems they start at the top (yes really)
some at the base
the numbers are different
and the locations to do with convenient
places to concentrate and activate latent abilities
Most people need to know how to CLOSE them
not open them
and for those of you thinking shining a ray
through the favoured chakra
is going to make you a better person
- have you ever thought of modyfying your behaviour
I know its not as much fun
but it really does seem to change people . . .
Let me tell you the story you all know
about THE CHAKRA JUNKY
Once upon a time
a serpent tamer decided to pray to all the Deities
for enlightenment
Every day she meditated and prayed
fasted and studied the Holy scriptures
she was too busy to work
too busy for her family
in fact too busy to become enlightened
and then one day
she met just the right person
at just the right time
and they said:
you invented the deities
but we gave you work and family
as your practise
Now go and do the washing up
And do you know
she lived happily ever after
and never bothered to become enlightened
and this is a true story
I know, because I was that washing up . . .

Most Kind Regards
Lobster
