your point is well taken, Lobster. True appreciation of the simple
things is a wonderful power. I wonder sometimes though, if it
only comes after the trials of 'extraordinary' experiences have played
themselves out?

Funnily, this seems to be the result of the NDE, also,
those who have come back really do appreciate the trivial everyday
experience of Life on Earth. While those of us who have never seen
the realm of death, are glazed, jaded, and bored, seeking after
greater and greater stimulation.

Even funnier, is the paradox that
those who adopt the practice of minute mindfulness to the trivial
for weeks at a time may propel themselves into an ego-death NDE
and a K awakening. Isn't this hilarious?

But, in the meantime, here's another book, the age old Shobogenzo,
wherein we are instructed on the wonderfulness of wiping
ourselves after elimination:

"Lift and gather up your underskirt by its corners, face the door,
and, straddling the basin between your feet, squat down and relieve
yourself. Do not talk or joke with the person in the next stall, chant,
sing, or recite anything aloud. Do not spit or blow your nose. Do not
strain or make grunting sounds excessively. You should not write
on the walls. ... When matters are handled in this way, everything
will be a purified Buddha Land, a Buddha World well adorned. You
should keep in mind the principle that, when you go to the bathroom,
the Buddha's Dharma is not something to be talked about, but lived."
- Zen Master Dogen Daiosho, Shobogenzo pg 99, Shasta Abbey edition
(No offense to great kind teacher Dogen, I hope.)

for any Dogen fans out there, check out a beautiful new edition
of the Shobogenzo published by Shasta Abbey 1996, it is really a
tactile pleasure to read (even on the toilet!). It even comes with
its own brown roshi's robe!
("The Shobogenzo" vol 1, Shasta Abbey press, ISBN 0-939966-17-0, 15$)

"When washing your hands,
By all means pray that all sentient beings
 May acquire the finest hands
With which to receive the Buddha's Teachings."

Kathy,
my sympathies with the electronic stuff. I'm not dissing your message
here, it's a great sentiment... we , the chosen to lead the way.
My hidden weakness (self-hidden, another Queen of De-Nile) is that I
secretly think I'm one of the Good Guys. This can lead to a lot of
subtle "noble suffering", "self-sacrifice", "living in the light"
sanctimony. Very well hidden from myself...others are all too willing to
support this, with statements that increasingly bear little relevance to
essence and could well allow me to think I'm a gold-plated saint.
I can only speak for myself...but if the shoe fits, feel free to wear
it also. I believe that even the ascended K all still have inner issues,
no one is "clean".
My feeling on K is that we just got lucky, or that everyone is
potential K material but the open ones get it first. No miracles here.
The "hundredth monkey " is a myth, a modern legend.
Again, this is not directed at you, your message was great. I'm saying
that this can be a real ego trap, though.

Well I am delighted at all the spiritual experiences that
people amuse themselves with:
molesting taosters
developing the facility to hullucinate
spinal lighting systems
etc
but
my miracle is bread in the toaster
dreams at night
and light in the bathroom.

Laugh?
I thought I'd bake a cake!
yes if you pay attention
you may become more aware
(life is simple when you stop
playing games)
tomorrow when I think of today
it will now be yesterday
as for the ego
I love my ego
and together we are plotting her death . . .

Also thanks for the Zen crap (so to speak)
My personal belief is Zen really can lead
to enlightenment
hence I avoid it
just to be sure . . .

Oddly, lately I seem to see a lot of the list mail fresh when it comes
back from the "Bounce file".
This is the Smartlist computer email notices that some members have
noticed show up sometime after posting to the list, to tell you where the
post didn't go...Well, I get several for each post and for each dead
mailbox. Lots and lots, sometimes the actual list mail is lost in the
avalanche.. but this one's title I found ironic to the post.
Returned/undeliverable somehow matches the sentiments of each post. "We
are back here to save(Returned mail)" and "no-one is saved(undeliverable)".
  I agree with both posts.
The Hundredth Money syndrome does fit in with K., because we are a
contaigous phenomenon. K. is catching, and we have no stats to record the
spread of something so fatal (Not in the sense that you will die from
it..except Shamanic death and rebirth, but in the sense that it is a
lifelong experience, once started)
There is no cure for K., and folks have been known to catch it with no
physical proximity to the carrier.
The Romans thought to stop the spread by killing the Carriers, but thier
martyred memory was enough to spread the condition. Laws to limit the
expressions of love and ecstacy slowed the spread, but the cycle comes round
again in the Age of New communication, we have a contagious phenomenon that
is outside of any control.
The concept of Critical mass..we will eventually reach a point where
nearly everyone has had contact with a Carrier....!

We volunteered, in the sense that we chose to be born into a 3d free will
universe and have these experiences.
It is in our best interests to give ourselves love and approval for our
good deeds and the light we share. Love your self first, so you have love to
give.
It is equally important to honor the dark side of our Tao, and to seek to
know it's lessons and purpose. We must shed light into these places as well,
to progress onward.
They problem with thinking of onself in terms of being part of a special,
chosen group is the assumption of the prescence of a non-chosen group to be
superior to, and them back we are into judgement and separation again. The
ego trap mentioned.
The Tao is round. Those who we would be superior to are only reflecting
back to us our own unintegrated darkness. We are all the perfect expression
of Goddess' love already.
 Blessings, Angelique.

How prescient of you Morgana. My just adopted 'enlightenment' manual
states thus:

Giving others the freedom to be stupid is one of the most important and
hardest steps to take in spiritual progress.

What kind of standards am I conceiving, in which so many people are seen
to be in suffering, while I am the enlightened one?

Thaddeus Golas

Something to think about.

Dear K list members,

The book "The Lazy Man's Guide To Enlightenment" is only 80 pages. I
bought it over the Internet at Powell's used books for $2.50. I thought
it would be amusing and flippant, something like, "Zen and the Art of
Motorcycle Maintenance" (which is very good).

It has taken me over two weeks to read those 80 pages. It is pure power
and bliss. I had to put it down after every couple of paragraphs and
get my breath back.

Check it out and see what a penniless, burned out hippy can churn out
from a San Francisco flop house in a weekend. Thank you Peter Norton.

>From the book:
I am nothing, I am empty, I am silent.
I have no resistance to the vibrations of other beings.
I have no resistance to the expansions and contractions of other beings.

Thaddeus Golas, wherever you are, and whatever form you have, I love
you.

Always remember--No Resistance

In Tai Chi our instructor has had us stare into each others faces, and the
experience seems to be different with each of us. Some see auras and other
see changing faces. I see the person's basic abiding feeling (or nature),
like a mask. It may be one of pain or joy, depending on the individual.

Hey, I didn't mean at all to imply that I was special or different, one of
the "chosen," or any more (or less) enlightened than anyone! Because I'm
certainly not --- I have many many questions about lots of things!
What I meant was that, like many others, I believe that we choose our
path in each and every life. I think we choose our lessons, our paths of
service, etc. What I was trying to say was that this is not necessarily an
easy "job." I do believe however, that we chose to do this and I do believe
it is a way to help others, not just ourselves. Like Angelique, I do feel
that critical mass plays a part in mass consciousness (The Hundredth Monkey
Syndrome -- which by the way is based on research done on snow monkeys on the
islands off Japan. Maybe, it's just a theory, but it's pretty interesting
food for thought.)
I've also read a little about nemetics, which postulates the theory that
thought forms are contagious. Very interesting ideas!

While we do retain free will in our lives, I think that some of us feel very
compelled to do some sort of task. It might make us different in some
respects, but it doesn't make us special. I wanted to honor in each of us the
will and the desire to continue to do what we came here for even though
sometimes it gets a little rough. And there are definitely those times when
it's terrific to balance it all.

Sorry I wasn't clearer in my original post.

Kathy, you were clear, I was just on my soap box. Apologies, didn't mean
to imply that YOU were doing that- just a commentary on my side.
What you have written above is beautifully clear, a gorgeous statement
and many thanks. The hundredth monkey is definitely fiction, there is no
actual study. Or so I found when I researched...does anyone have the
study, a true scientific report and not the popular myth?

Hey, I looked up the search engines and found no 'nemetics' aor did I find
it in the dictionary. I am interested in looking it up and reading about it.
Could you provide any source references? Could be one of the numerous
influencing factors in the area of Kundalini.
Also please confirm the speling(?)

Hi,

Joe Patrick quoting a priceless $2.50 book:
> I am nothing, I am empty, I am silent.
> I have no resistance to the vibrations of other beings.
> I have no resistance to the expansions and contractions of other beings.

Advanced stuff
but paradoxically for those K doormats:

You are everything, the sacred essence, ecstatic expression.
Resonate to your own song and allow others their voice.

meanwhile in another posting . . .
> Giving others the freedom to be stupid is one of the most important and
> hardest steps to take in spiritual progress.

The above is true and . . .
It is certainly not our job to educate/improve others
or to decide who needs this
until such time as we embrace and overcome our own stupidity
Who wants that "freedom"?
At some point (Idries Shah makes this point)
you have to deal with peoples stupidity -
before it deals with you

Dear Charles (and others interested in memes),

Sorry about the typo! It was late, I was tired, should have been more
careful! Anyway the word I meant to type is "memetics" which is based on
memes which are "contagious" thoughtforms. There are several books on the
subject as it is not a new one, but one that seems to be generating
increasing interest. Here's a couple:
_Thought Contagion: How Belief Spreads through Society_ by Aaron Lynch
_Virus of the Mind: The New Science of the Meme_ by Richard Brodie

Both these guys have web sites if you're interested:

Lynch -- www.mcs.net~aaron/thoughtcontagion/html (tells about his book)
      www.mcs.new~aaron/tc1/html (excerpt from his book)

Brodie -- members.aol.com/rbrodie

Also, there's a newsgroup listed as alt.memetics. I tried to read a bit of
it, but most of it was just debate (arguing, actually). You might want to
try it though, maybe it gets better!

Hope this helps,

Kathy

Hi, I have a question regarding the blood sugar or brain sugar being
used up from Kundalini. For the last week I have been extremely
lightheaded and dizzy and unable to function. This has also been going
on for the last 7 months since a spontaneous kundalini awakening. When I
get like this I have to eat fast so I don't faint. Yesturday I was
wondering if it was due to blood sugar going down because I seem to feel
like people who describe diabetes. Then I was reading my messages and
came across Mystress Angeliques information. This is the first I have
heard of it.
One thing I have found though is that I cannot handle any sugar (For
example: Chocolate, table sugar, cookies, ice cream, etc. -the things
that aren't good for me anyways.)
I would love to hear more about this or if anyone else has had
experiences being dizzy, lightheaded, etc. I haven't been able to find
any solutions that have worked yet. I rest a lot. I would love to start
feeling better though.
This also seems to occur with more intensisty during full moons, new
moons, and my own female cycle. I am also going through my first saturn
return which peaks March 13, 1996 and didn't know if that would also
affect this dizziness I am experiencing so much now.
I hope this doesn't sound like I have talked in too many circles but
I feel as though I am on a tilt-a-whil as I write this.
Thanks, Love and Light, Colleen sumacATnospamwin.bright.net

In other news...I am considering posting "Best of the Archives" once a
week or so.
I have noticed that often the same subjects come up again and again, such
as the resurrection of the recent thread on multiple faces.

Surfing the Archives, I often discover old posts that are rich in wisdom
and energy. New people haven't seen them, old members might enjoy the reprise.
I am looking for members opinions on this...I don't think it will affect
list volume much, but If you do not want your own contributions revived for
further discussion, let me know.

Da other thing is I am redoing the Kundalini website, as it is moving
servers I must go in and change host addresses, etc.
Originally I had planned to host the K.site within, but disconnected from
my own site under my provider's ( www.iceonline.com/serpent/kundalini.)
address.
But, alas free speech on the web is not, so I must change my plans.

My Domain is censored by some providers, not because it is obscene, but
rather because the Web-bots who crawl the web looking for keywords can't
tell the difference between pornography and psychology. I am looking for
another provider to host the site, so that it will not share the same
fate....It might anyway, the Web-bots can't tell the difference between
pornography and spirituality, either...

Also I am considering adding a page of K. inspiring imagery. We have
mentioned the concept of online Shaktipat a few times on the list, and it
occurred to me that a page of images that connect to the K. of members might
be a way to do that.

So I am looking for personal symbols to represent members who are willing
to participate in this project. Ideally, a symbol or image that is
personally connected to your K. power, small and easily downloaded...I can
shrink them if need be.

Invest the symbol for yourself with blessings and love, and place it in
perfection of your highest good and outside of time, so that you are
protected from having the energy be drawn away when you have little to
spare, and to make certain that the connection is one way. I do not intend
for this page to be flashing negative energies from the browsers back to the
symbol/energy donors. Love going out will be love coing back, threefold.
Connect the image with the aspect of yourself that is outside of time and
space, so the symbol's energy will not be soured if you happen to be having
a bad day.
This idea is partly inspired by the image ATnospam
http://www.halcyon.com/sahajnet/SM2.gif
Sahaj's picture is famous for the shaktipat online it generates.

If you do not wish to be a part of the shaktipat online but have a
favorite meditation image that you wish to share, send it on as well,
specifying it's purpose.

PLEASE!!! DO NOT POST THE IMAGES TO THE LIST ADDRESS!!! PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY
PLEASE WITH BLUE FIRE ON TOP!!!!
Apologies for the caps, this is important. Post them directly to me, if
you wish to generate discussion on them, put them on your website and post
the URL on the list or ask me to post them. I will put up a secret "Work in
progress" page on my site and post the URL. I am a Windows3.1 user, so
please send standardized types of images such as Gifs or Jpegs. I cannot get
into some types of Mac images.
Possibly someone with greater image capability might step forth to
translate them for me?

Do not to send email with attatchments to the list. They tend to jam the
server because they are larger than the average email. They mess up the K.
list Digest version which is parceled out according to time passed/file
size. A post with an image attached may be sent out as a Digest by itself,
an annoyance to List Members who subscribe to the digest because of mail
volume limitations.
Also, they may crash the systems of people who are not equipped for images
or large emails, or for an attatchment of that type. If they get mail at
work, it might tie up the company system. Oops!
Others are suspicous becuase they fear viruses clinging to attatchments,
and delete all attachments. (sounds very zen...)
In other words, they bounce like crazy. Images are usually shared by
putting them on your website and posting the URL. Or mentioning thier
existence and offering to forward individually to any who request. Or just
send them to me.

If you don't follow these posting guidelines, expect to be flamed by other
members whose systems you crash...Not me, I make no threats.

But I think a sizzling Shaktipat page would be a fine addition to the K.
site.

 Blessings, Angelique.
