(sorry for the long post, it really does have relevance to K,
albeit only intellectually, oh well...)

Hi Omega,

Thanks for all the timely info on Time!
I have been thinking about time a lot lately,
it is kind of my daily 'mindfulness' practice,
so excuse me if I ramble on like an excited
dilettante about Time:

It is interesting to consider time from a 'scientific
point of view' how one would go about investigating Time
as a scientist? Imagine you wanted to study Time
'scientifically', what would be the ideal instrument to
investigate time? A clock? But what does a clock really
tell us about time other than its relative nature in
gravitational fields?

I have recently come to the conclusion that what is
going on in most meditation methods is really
an 'analysis' of Time, to where time is seen to be
discrete, not continuous, i.e. there are gaps in
time that can be experienced as 'timelessness'.
Which, when experienced, may charge us up via K with
the creative energy freely available in the Universe, allowing
us to tap into the creative power that is always there.

Why wouldnt the ideal instrument
for the fundamental investigation of Time be meditation?
Where the arising and passing away of experience in time
is noted at finer and finer levels of attention until
the gaps in time are revealed, and timelessness is
experienced. Time is then really
understood from the point of view of timelessness.

So, here is a way to do 'leading-edge' scientific
investigation of one of the ultimate properties of Nature
with no need for government funding or complicated
accelerators or liquid-nitrogen cooled superconducting
magnets! All you need is a cushion and a quiet space.

egads! Why wasn't I told this in school?

And the secret to birth and death is realized in these timeless
gaps, as one moment in time apparently dies and another moment
in time is apparently born. And what is propelling us across
these gaps to experience more time, is the habit-energy
we've inherited from the millions of ancestors that we
owe our existence to. To stop this habit-energy only
briefly to experience a timeless gap is to bring to
a crashing halt the habits of millenia, which has
backwards ripple effects in time, helping our
ancestors to be cured of the habit-energies of
fear etc. as Mistress as so eloquently testified to.

It is very interesting to me that Cramer's work is not a result of
any new discovery or theoretical development, if I remember right,
the stuff was always there, just never paid attention to.
It is a classic paradigm of paradigm shifts.
Just takes someone to ask the obvious question:
'why should we neglect negative time as non-physical, who says it is
non-physical?' Much like Bell's theorem came from a very simple
question.

Hawking's theory of two-dimensional 'imaginary' (complex) time is
also interesting, where all of 'normal' time past and future
can be seen from a single point of 'imaginary' time.

> Beyond this, the literature about backward in time causality is quite poor.
> Paul Davies, Huw Price, and a few others have books about time in general

Davies' 'About Time' I thought looked pretty good, I havent read it all
but it seemed to be a good popular level book.

> but poetically speaking, I would expect the consistency

yep, isnt this the insight of the alchemists also: 'as above so below'.
That Nature's design mirrors itself on all scales of existence. The
surrealist-existentialist philosopher Georges Bataille had an insight
into
this which he expressed as 'all things are parodies of each other'.

Not meaning to slight him, but, if I am not mistaken, Talbot was more of
a
paranormalist than a 'leading edge scientist'. He was quite a good
theatricalist,
though, I saw a performance of his when he was on the new age expo
circuit before he died.

not to be anal about it, but let's not forget
Fritjof Capra, John Wheeler, Henry Stapp, John Hagelin, and Ken Wilber,
and then all the physicist/mystics Wilber anthologizes in his 'Quantum
Questions'.

I think this is really one of the big stories of the 20th century:
the story of Physics and consciousness and then the story of
the physicists themselves and their explorations of consciousness.
Such as Josephson's meditation practice, and Schrodinger's Vedanta
practice.

Mystress, this was a most amazing post, very moving.
thanks so much for sharing it.

I was especially touched by the comment of your teacher:

This has given me insight into the meaning of the
mysterious Buddhist chant/vow to 'save all sentient
beings' which always mystified me.
By breaking this chain we have inherited,
we have broken it for all from whom we inherited it.
Amazing!

Hui Neng talks about this in the Platform Sutra, I think,
but I cant remember the exact quote.
doesnt matter anyway.

Excuse this posting, but while deleting files out of my Windows Explorer last
night, I accidently deleted all of my favorite websites which included most
all the ones many of you have mentioned in the K-list postings.

If you have a website, or have mentioned any interesting ones in the list,
would you please email me directly with the web #? I would greatly
appreciate it. I've really enjoyed browsing yours and reference back to them
many times.

Thanks,

Hi all -

I've been seeing ads for a television movie to be shown on US television
this weekend (ABC network, I think) about a child who has epilepsy. It
stars Meryl Streep and has been getting a lot of attention. Then today,
I saw a story in the Wall Street Journal which gave some details about
the movie's plot. Apparently, the child's mother (Streep) puts the kid
on a specialized diet (described in the WSJ story as being high fat, low
carbohydrate, if I remember correctly) instead of continuing the
medication originally precribed by the child's doctors. I _think_ the
diet was called a "ketogenic diet", but I'm writing from memory here and
that could well be wrong. I remember a weight-loss strategy with a
similar name from a couple of decades back. Not sure if it's the same
deal. And I'm posting this because of the oft-discussed connections
between epilepsy/seizure disorder and kundalini.

XO,
Paul

This is just to introduce myself. My name is Tyrone Walton.I'm 39 years
old and black.I first became aware of kundalini in the 80's.I was living
in New York, and at the time I was homeless.

I had been practicing Hatha Yoga, and doing breath etc. I started to
notice colors and lights with my eyes open.I thought nothing of it at
the time. This continued for sometime. Then one day after doing my
practices.I noticed a kind of red orange color around my spine and
body.Being homeless I was roaming around I ended up in the Wall
St.area.I passed a bookstore,in the window was a book with a picture of
a yogi. He was doing a certain hand gesture(mudra) that interested me.

So I made the same mudra with my fingers. As I made the gesture I felt
a rush of heat up my spine. The colors around my body became
electric. That was my most intense experince of kundalini. As for changing
my life.It has not really changed all that much.I no longer do hatha. My
practice now is meditation on internal sounds, doing mudra's and
chanting. I still have an aura these days it's mostly red and blue.Which
is visable to others. There is also a light or dot at my third eye. I
don't see it myself, but have been told by others it's there. All I see
is a pinpoint of light.

The only time I've really seen it is once in NY. While I was getting a
hair cut. I looked in the mirror and saw a grey oval slightly above and
between my eyes. I think I opened it one day in Ny. I was over by the
westside highway. I was doing a sitting forward bend(head to knee). With
my head to my knees,I felt a sucking or popping sensation. In the middle
of my brow. There was a pulling sensation, like my spine was pulling my
brow inward. When I looked up I saw ball electricity orange in color.I
also felt a powerfull hunger for food.

The only power I can see from this is some telepathic ablities.Mainly I
image the words and project them to another. Also there is some x-ray
vision. But I really feel this is just projecting an image onto
another.Well that's all for now.

Welcome Tyrone! (smile)

Your letter is very interesting, Tyrone! I enjoyed what you said, about
everything!
Funny, I think you may have projected writing your introduction,a couple
of days ago, because I distinctly thought to myself, alot of the people
who have raging kundalinis are not always fortunate to have family or
whatever to watch over them when they endure the merciless kundalini
force for sometimes years or even permanently, and these unfortunate ones
would not necessarily have a home.
I have enjoyed yoga in the past, hatha, kriya, kundalini Yoga,as
well as karma yoga and Bakti yoga!
Yes, your third eye activation is incredible , isn't it. The auric sight
ability is wonderful, isn't it? I am a Deaf woman and I have always
seen auras, all my life, it is very useful.
Please write more when you can, and welcome again, our new friend!
Sincerely,
Victoria

HI Tyrone,
My name is Gloria Greco. My homepage is
http://www.inetworld.com/lodpress/
Check it out and then we can talk. The colors you are seeing are the
first two chakra's. Your goal at this point is to raise up to the heart
chakra which is the seed sound of yam. Sound is eeeeeaaaaaammmmmm. If
you can quiet yourself with "Be Still and KNow I Am God" and then focus
energy on the yam sound it will bring your energies into focus on the
heart center. This will spiritually ground you. Talk soon. Gloria

just found this place that will let you put up your own
web page for free (2Mb max file size),
and gives you an alternate email name too,
thought some might be interested:

http://www.geocities.com/homestead/

its a bit convoluted to sign on, basically you pick a
'neighborhood' of related interests (all sufficiently
suburbia-bourgeois of course) and find a 'vacant' address
via browsing, then click on the vacant spot and
fill out a form with your present email address,
then you can 'ftp' over your home page, or use their
online editor to make one.

neat concept.
they dont sound completely crassly commercial.
if you've always wanted your own home page but didnt
want to pay for it, here's your chance!
