And has anyone else noticed any sort of cyclic nature to the energy? >Eileen Hi, for me, K manifests _mostly_ in sleep. I never had a full K-A, but had a kind of aborted K-A after a seven day meditation retreat, but since then the only physical K symptoms I experience are in sleep, except for the low-level head vibrations that occasionally perk in daytime. During sleep, I will get the whole-body crawling skin sensation and intense heart-chakra emotions and sensations of light in my body and (very rarely) out-of-body experiences. I remember them because they wake me up. I suppose the ones that don't wake me up, I dont remember. Nothing as intense as jackhammers up the spine, though. I once had a dream where there was just black space and these pulses of light cycling in a 3 dimensional orbit with the same shape as the brain-spinal cord! It is pretty infrequent, about once a month. And I havent noticed any kind of cyclic pattern to it. My meditation schedule is pretty erratic which may explain that. They seem to be triggered more when I am meditating regularly, or have just read some spiritual writing that moved me. I read about a famous meditation/biofeedback researcher (whose name I forget) in the book 'Through the Labyrinth' by Peter Ochiogrosso, and it was interesting that he has established that the EEG of deep meditation is similar to that of non-REM deep sleep. So it is reasonable that our spiritual consciousness would be active in sleep. I have also read some Yogi maintain that we ALL enter Cosmic Consciousness in deep non-dream sleep, and if we didn't, we would all go really crazy. One small experience of awakening I had came during meditation when I was really sleepy and going in and out of the dream state spontaneously, but kept trying to come back to awareness. During one of the transitions as I came out of the dream state into awareness, there was an electrical shock through my whole body and there was a big AHA! without any 'I'! It was like a brief flash, though it went away, it charged my whole body up with energy for a day or so. Anyway, who says sleep is 'wasted time'? Not me! cheers, Peter - 3 Date: Fri, 08 Nov 1996 Subject: hot flashes Hello all, I recently had a Reiki healing done and was told that I had a block between my second and third chakras. I was also told that my liver was "congested". The healer told me that she worked on opening the blockage in the chakras and succeeded in doing so to an extent. Although I felt nothing at the time of the healing itself, since that time I have noticed that I am getting hot flashes and sweating quite a bit. I have also felt very dizzy at times and disoriented (more than my usual amount :) ). In addition to this, I had written in once before about a tingling between my shoulder blades. I was told that this was a "temporary chakra" that was opening. I hadn't felt any more tingling until after the healing. Now I feel that it is always there, even if I am not consciously aware of it (if that makes sense). - There is no sense of pain or discomfort with this, in fact I am quite excited at the possibilities of what this could mean. I was hoping someone out there could help shed some light on my situation. Are hot flashes and sweating common in getting k awakened? I know I have a LONG way to go, but the fact that this may be progress is very encouraging. Thanks for your help. - In Service to the Light, 4 Date: Fri, 8 Nov 1996 From: schwalmATNOSPAMsonatech.com (Randall Schwalm) Subject: Re: Nocturnal Cyclic - >>Now my questions to you on the list: Have others known the manifestations >mainly in a >>light sleep? For me I started with OBE experinces 3 years ago and have helped with much. I evan at much luch break now will have the jolt experiences.... I feel they are the spirit for readjusting back to the body in a new improved way. Now in a light sleep you may have an astral travel which is based more in an abstract plane where an OBE Out of body is more firm in clear dimensional travel. Someone said it they real a lound humming and crakling electricity..... This sometimes is heard when in an OBE and tune is is done to the radio waves.... some energy beings avoid the earth due to the loud deafening sounds of waves....Reading this list I feel this points out why so many people are drawn to nature.... no Current waves from appliences and reduced radio waves...... If anyone ever really gets out in the boonies way from from any electrical lines...etc... it is so charging..... the real earth current "the divine mother" litteraly comes through.. But as far as light sleep I feel we as souls can leave to a more healthy place when in this light sleep.... our true spirit selves wake up more and receive nurishment....so when we jolt back in to our bodies I feel this is hour we get altered molecularly and improved chakras.... I have learned that divine beings are able to come closer to the earth plane than before, that they can indeed be contacted through talking boards. Jane Roberts contacted Seth first through a talking board, it is the misuse of the talking board that get's everyone's attention. Usually, they are used by teenagers who are using it as a toy or game, which it is *not*. If you don't ask for the protection, you aren't always going to be given it. There are beings out there who do keep other spirit's in check, I call them spirit bouncers. The circle is a very real instant claim of space for privacy upon the astral realm, a guide can and will very easily draw one for you. A dark trickster isn't able to enter a claimed space, whether it's a house, or a circle. It took me a while to learn these laws of the astral, before I was quite green and ignorant of them. What I have found is that it is very similar to nature. - Tim 6 Date: Fri, 08 Nov 1996 From: Tim Duna Subject: Re: Solar plexus - Jari wrote: >The energy seems to stop at my >Solar Plexus Chakra or skip it completely. The actual solar plexus spinal opening is at about the heart chakra frontal opening. The base chakra's spinal opening is just above the very beginning of the crack in the butt, for lack of a better term. I guess the very beginning of the back may be better. The second chakra, the sex, lies a little ways upward on the spine, around the solar plexus region. Here is where your blocks may be. Try working upon the sex chakra and see how the pain is. Pain in a chakra usually indicates it trying to open up. Also, you should try to make attempts at some point to clear some of the higher chakras, like heart or solar plexus onward, so that the energy has a path to move if you stir up too much in the lower two chakras. A good book on this stuff is "Kundalini and the Chakras" by Genevieve Lewis Paulson. - 7 Date: Fri, 08 Nov 1996 From: Tim Duna Subject: Re: hot flashes At 04:12 PM 11/8/96 -0600, you wrote: >Hello all, > >I recently had a Reiki healing done and was told that I had a block between >my second and third chakras. Between the second and third lies the navel. Although there is also the high sex chakras inbetween. There are actually three sex chakras. My guess is that it would be the navel. It is a *very* emotional center, many bloackages that relate to other chkaras can be found here. >Although I felt nothing at the time of the healing itself, since that time I >have noticed that I am getting hot flashes and sweating quite a bit. Makes perfect sense, you have opened an energy center. The hot flashes and sweating can be explained. They are most likely caused by a releasing of energy through the solar nerve, pingala. It is the masculine polarity, is positive in electrical terms, and is hot. The dizziness and disorientation are side effects of energy being released, I get this too. A pingala release can bring decreased appetite, restlessness, and make it hard to concentrate on things. For me, I have been experiencing the opposite, cold flashes and chills. What I have noticed is that when some energy releases, it tends to spread throughout the body, as the channel isn't fully clear yet. When this happens, the coldness is dispersed throughout the body, making me colder than I was before. I imagine the same is happening to you but heat instead of cold. 8 Date: Fri, 08 Nov 1996 From: Tim Duna Subject: Re: New to the list Just an apology to everyone about this post, it was meant for e-mail and I goofed. - 9 Date: Fri, 08 Nov 1996 From: rjills Subject: Re: Respnse to Mistress Angelique Yes, Phil, Im afraid Id have to agree with you about religion, etc. being a part of this list. If K. takes you to great hieghts, great. But why drag in extraneous identities? It only rankles some and is of no interest to others. Just my opinion. I know that K. is awakened in many , many different types of backgrounds for people. However, because there is a coincidence doesnt mean there has to be a causal relationship. It just doesnt matter what the circumstances were because there are so many, perhaps as many as there are people. And the things surrounding that awakening is not whats important, Its the awakening and what happens after that that counts. Its the growth that takes place after that. It doesnt matter if we develop all kinds of powers to go into other planes (magik), or any paranormal activity. All of that is a side line to the main event. The goal is complete union with the one, or at least progress into that area. As has been said awakening the k. is not so difficult--staying awake is. To be sidetracked by phenomenom is very human. It can be interesting and fascinating. But its not the goal. Anyone one the list can talk about anything they want. I was just expressing an opinion, as you are. Royale - 15 Date: Sun, 10 Nov 1996 From: Paco Subject: re: Levels of Yoga Has anybody ever read the Shiva Sutras? I would recommend it highly. I think it is central to understanding the nature of meditation and Kundalini Yoga. "Cittam Mantraha" is one of the Shiva sutras. "Mind is mantra". I've heard this interpreted as: When a mantra is spoken, it is a sound. Sounds are vocal representations of letters, which are symbols. Letters have a power, or Shakti, to them. When a word is pronounced mentally, it is vibrating in the thought, or mind, energy. It has an inward sound, feel, look, meaning, etc. Yet it is vibrating in the mind, which is consciousness. Thus: mind(consciousness) mantra(word). So, this helps to raise questions of, what is the energy a word is vibrating in mentally? How does it exist and how are we aware of it? Where is the consciousness emanating from? How do I connect to this inner mental energy, the root of the mind which connects to the universe? These are questions that can lead deeper into meditation. This is not for babies. It helps to think of the personality as an organic system, that is alive and changing, fluid and healthy, and not a "house of cards" built up of thoughts, beliefs, memories, worries etc. If something powerful happens in your life, and your mind is like a house of cards it's blown away, but the root of consciousness is like a stream getting fresh water all the time. So maybe I'm saying it's like taking a plunge, and seeing what happens. I know lot's of people on this list know these things, but I wanted to post this, maybe it help somebody. I've seen strange posts about meditation, people perpetrating fears; people talking about mental illnesses, schizophreniam, depression, paranoia; cryptic warnings about meditationm, weird admonitions and pseudo-Biblical metaphysical ponderings........... Meditation is for winners. Yoga makes people very strong and healthy. There is nothing like it. It is like pure gold. Your fears are your own. Yoga is a true path. later, Paco 16 Date: Sat, 9 Nov 1996 From: Jim Cook Subject: OOPS... - At 07:25 AM 11/8/96 -0800, you wrote: > > 300 Hells Angels today brought tons of food to a homeless > shelter for Thanks Giving. > Reminds me of the "Diggers" in the 60's > > Jim > > > Sorry about this. Curious. At my Yoga class the teacher implied that the solar plexus is in the spine at the same level as one's navel and that's where we concentrated with the RAM-mantra. So it seems the location of the chakras is not very agreed upon. Which makes sense, I guess, since we are all individuals... However, > The second chakra, the sex, lies a > little ways upward on the spine, around the solar plexus region. Here is > where your blocks may be. this actually makes more sense to me. I haven't been able to figure out why I'd have a blockage in my solar plexus... the sex chakra I can understand! And also practical evidence points that way... when I get the spasms without any work on my part, it's always connected to other people with regard to sexual attraction. Until now, I just thought the energy was leaking up to my solar plexus and caused the spasms from there when in fact it might be the sex chakra itself that's blocked! Thank you very much for your different view on this matter. I'll certainly see where this leads me... Take care, Jari -- Jari Vanha-Eskola ! I realize that this too is only a partial answer. > HI, This is probably one of the best examples possible, how much further can we go. When I did my book Good and Evil In Our Times I did a chapter on Edith Stein. She was a Jewish lady that became a nun in her middle age years. She was also a great teacher in the best universities in Germany until Hitler came in and began changing things. She decided to leave her Jewish rootes and become a Catholic because of a book she read about St. Teresa which immediately brought her to realization. Anyway, because of her high state of social responsibility and love for both Germany and the Jewish people, she prayed that God would use her as an instrument to atone for the sins of Hitler and the German people for what was happening to the Jews. She and her sister who also became an nun were taken to the concentration camps. When the guards and others saw how she acted toward everyone, the german guards as well as the jewish people in the camp, they knew she was an angel sent by God. When one of the guards acted her if she wanted him to try to get her out by talking to the right people, she said absolutely not. That would be the worst possible thing for me, I am here to die and prove that love is stronger then hate. And, even though things look pretty bad, love will conquer, because love is stronger. I think that is another fantastic example, don't you? Gloria
